D23 Expo 2011! Who's attending?

Thanks, all, guess if we can take the everyday walking at WDW we can walk to DL! Looking forward to it...actually getting a bit excited..nervous? Have no clue what to expect. We were able to tack on 2 and half extra days to spend at DL before and after the Expo.

After being the "the Planner" for WDW for all these years I'm feeling completely out of my depth with the Expo and visit to DL. Love hearing what all you have to say. Thanks for sharing (and please keep it coming!).

With gratitude,
Auntie Peep

Disneyland is just so EASY..I guess that's why I never seem to make it back to WDW.
The Expo is such a treat..just sit back and enjoy all the surprises..:)

I wish they'd hurry up and release some info about the expo. I'd like some idea of what we will see.

Agreed! For anyone that went to the last Expo. Should we expect to spend most of the day at the event? I'm trying to decide if we should budget for park tickets or will we be so busy we won't have time?

Thanks!

The parks will always be there, the Expo is only three days, and will be jam packed. Look at the Destination D schedule, only with multiple events occurring concurrently.

Super busy all day and night. If you want to to the parks I'd plan for the parks before or after EXPO days. I'm coming in on Wednesday and not leaving until the following Wednesday.

My guess is that the schedule will not be posted until Destination D is over. :tink:

I think you are right that we won't get any new info until about June. I re-read my confirmation and it mentions that we'll get our credentials about 2 months prior to the Expo so that will probably be when some news will filter out. I would love to hear something sooner but probably not. :surfweb:

I would too. Between waiting for the D23 Expo schedule (I am soo excited - my first one) and the Halloween parties, I am dying with impatience.

There is a "surprise" mentioned for the morning of the 2nd day of Destination D, it wouldn't surprise me (pun intended) if they let some information slip about the Expo in that session. This time I'm bringing a pen and paper and taking notes just like I did in college. I've forgotten so much from the one in September already. Anyone who was there remember how many different experiences there will be on the new Star Tours ride?

no... I hope you'll do a trip report!! I need to live through someone else for D23 experiences until the Expo :)

I will also be at Destination D at Disney World in May and staying on to experience my first Star Wars weekend!!! :wizard:

Then onto the D23 Expo in August!!! :cloud9:

Does anyone have an idea about what times the expo will be (especially how late it will go on Sunday)? I'm trying to book airplane tickets.

Thanks!

My husband are going this year!!! The last time we were in Disneyland it was the week before the last expo. After I heard all the great things that happened there I said if we are able we are going if it falls during summer break. And it did! We are so excited now we are trying to stay in a budget for the hotel as we are leaving from CA to go on the DCL Alaskan Cruise the Tuesday after the Expo!!!
I also can't wait for more information as I have lots of things to coordinate for our trip. I wish they wouldn't keep us in the dark about everything.

Wow..that sounds so FUN!
OK, I just dug out my Guidebook from the first Expo. Sunday night went until 11:00 PM with the US Premiers of Toy Story 2 & 3 in 3D.
Before that was a Toy Story 3 presentaion at the WD Studios Theater
The latest event on Sunday for the Storytellers Theater was 3- 4:30 pm: Imagineering Pixar for the Disney Parks, Stage 23 final event was 3:30 - 4:00 pm...From Annette to Miley: How Disney Pop Changed the World and the final Arena Presentation was from 2- 4PM Disney Channel cast of Wizard's of Waverly Place.
I made the mistake of having to leave around noon on Sunday and had to leave right in the middle of John Lasseter, which was a HUGE regret and I won't do that again.
Remember, too, that the first Expo was 4 days and this time it's only 3, so the schedule could be much more jam packed.

My sister and I have never been to Disneyland before. We're super excited and I can't wait for the expo. From some of the other comments on here, I'm wondering if buying 5 day tickets was a mistake... It seems like we could get everything done in about 3 or 4 days. The only thing that would make a difference is that I'd like to take a tour or two in the parks (when in Rome). We're also planning on taking advantage of the food! Since we have 5 day tickets, it'd be like $10 more for her and I to get a sixth day. Why not at this point, I'm supposing?

Anyways... One thing that I haven't seen a lot lately on the forums... What Disney stars would you like to see at the expo? I know it's going to be pretty impossible since they were there last time, but I'd love to see the cast of Wizards of Waverly Place! :wizard:

..I keep hoping there will be some reason for Johnny Depp to return :)
I also was sorry I had to miss the ABC screenings because of the scheduling, so hope to see some of those with stars along. They haven't yet mentioned who the Legends will be this year..that could be exciting. Hands down, the best Arena presentation last year was the Studios..I hope the other divisions try and match that.

WoWP would be cool. Maybe Suite Life on Deck too. From the ABC shows we'd love to see the cast of Castle, The Middle, Modern Family, No Ordinary Family and/or Cougar Town.

Okay, people, I'm blaming you for this! We just booked flights and tickets for the Destination D event at WDW in two weeks!

I think we've now officially lost our minds!:rotfl:

At least we're taking time for the parks in August but we're literally going for the weekend in May. Hope we get to meet some of you there.

Do you really think we may get some "crumbs" of information about the Expo?

with love and empty pockets,
Auntie Peep
