Wow. I didn't see Monster House, and for the longest time, I didn't want to see Cars. So, I can't really compare the two of them.

But really, I love the messages Disney movies have. :]

I worded it wrong. I meant animated movies that were meant for families w/ children. In the sense that when you make an animated movie that is geared towards families, they should make it family appropriate. They violated this because this was INTENDED to be a family movie but it was complete trash.
There are some good not-so-family-friendly animated movies such as Princess Mononoke. That isn't intended to be a major family holiday weekend movie, so it's fine. This sounds so redundant, but if you are going to make an animated family movie, make it right!!

I forgot to mention that I eventually saw Cars. I love it. It's probably my second favourite Pixar movie.

If you like the Pixar movies, I definitely reccommend the Studio Ghibli ones, such as Spirited Away (academy award winning for best animated picture), Howl's Moving Castle, and all of the others. They are so good, and they come with a forward by John Lasseter, Executive VP of Pixar.

You reminded me of how much I like Pixar. Toy Story 2 is one of a tiny number of sequels that is actually good. The only Pixar movie I really don't like is A Bug's Life. I love love love Monster's Inc., Toy Story 1 & 2, The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, and to a lesser extent, Cars.

I love Finding Nemo. Hence, I live in that creepy dentist's office. xD Everything about it is just great. Especially the scenery. I love the soundtrack.

I love Cars. Everything is just so, scintillating. (Yay, vocabulary word!)

Monster's Inc. . . I found a Hidden Mickey in that movie! I like it, but it's not my favourite.

Hmm. In the autumn, I was going to apply to a career academy. I was torn between two of them. One of them is extensive in Biotechnology, and the other one involved Communications [and animation.] I spent a few weeks debating where I wanted to go; I'd love to work for Pixar, but I wanted to go into forensics.

I chose forensics.

That's one of the big things that bugged me. The bf of the babysitter calls her a 'prude.' Can you imagine how many kids asked their parents what that was?

Thank you for making this thread, it makes a very valid point about not just animated movies, but the society today and so on. It woulnd't surprise me if most of the kids who saw MH already new what "prude" was. I never saw MH but I absolutly LOVED Cars. As I do the disney movies and pixar. The themes and morals behind disney movies are just so powerful, and meaningful. And family oriented. To me animated movies are ment for lil children and their families, and this is what Disney is known for. I hope they never realese a movie like what I hear MH is like.

I loved Cars! And I thought Monster House was good too! I actually thought Monster House was one of the better Pixar movies..............

And to tell you the truth, I don't wanna see Happy Feet because I think it looks stupid.

well ive seen all three and while none of them are great by any stretch of the imagination i think monster house was the best of the three...i dont really think what was in monster house was all that bad either, if you watched the trailers for monster house they didnt even gear it towards kids they tried to make it seem scary and highlighted the fact that steven spielberg was associated wit hthe movie to try to get an older audience...and when you say that shrek is an exception shrek had a lot of questionable things in it as well perhaps more so then monster house and im not sure if you are aware of this or not but disney is notorious for their sexual inuendos in thier movies, ie.. Aladin, The Rescuers Little Mermaid, Roger Rabbit, The lion king all have questionable things in them disney just trys to make theres more "hidden"
