D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

Then you've got my dream toll!!! I'd love one of those!! Someday...

I'd really, really, really, really appreciate it! Any bright and fun POP-y sort of colors would be great!! :goodvibes I can let you know my parents' address in a bit by PM! You're WONDERFUL!! THis is so much better than a notepad!! Now, how did you put it on the door? Need to go back and look more closely!

I'll send you the whole thing. Even the thing for the door. I use the 3M removable hangers. I have a boat load of them so I will stick them in the package.

Do you want a 12x12 page too? If so, what do you want on it. I have the Disney cartridges so I can do the Mickey font and write whatever you want on it.

Nah, I think I'll leave the door just sort of plain except the ribbon note thingy. I just love it!! So creative!

PMing you now...

That's what I'm saying! You don't have one, so I didn't even notice!! I do imagine though, that Katharina's is more noticable.

Actually, I did notice your hint (very slight!) of a British accent. It's the same one they have here- depending on which English Center they study at.

Ok, to me it sounded like you were wondering what I would sound like - but you were just trying to remember. :goodvibes

WE have a few S. African friends here, and it's very distinguishable from British and even Aussie.

I guess it is just that they can't place my accent and pick one that is exotic and which they don't know very well.

I think we'll all get a kick out of your dad- he sounds like a fun guy!! And yes, I think it will be nice for Mike to have another guy there. :thumbsup2

Yes, I am sure our meet will be a lot of fun!

I just wanted to say that this again shows what a wonderful place the DIS is! There are so many people helping each other out with whatever... (This also goes for the others who just volunteered getting LGMH for Liesa!!) :goodvibes:goodvibes

This is a perfect example of that!!

Which reminds me to put out my public service ad one more time!!!

I've gotten requests from Rosie, Jordan, Kathy, PyratePrincess and Leslie for specific things to find, look for and/or get, and I'm happy to do the same for

YOU!!

Just let me know what you're looking for (pictures, CDs, T-shirts, say hi to someone, etc...) and I'll try my best!

Good Mornin'!

Liesa, how is your dad doing? So hope they were able to repair the damage. :goodvibes

Have resigned myself to the reality that I cannot keep up with this fast moving thread! ;) Please know I'm quietly here reading as much as possible and always sending happy thoughts.

Do you still need Mickey paint chips? You may wind up with more than you could ever use!

The Mickey head notes on ribbons are fabulous! I'd love to give those out to little ones. Think I might try to make some with paint chips. :thumbsup2

Another Tasty Little Interlude….

Today’s tasty little interlude brings us the flavors of the Middle East or North Africa. And one of the places to find that sort of fare is at...

The Tangierine Café in EPCOT’s Moroccan Pavilion!

Although, this place gets mixed reviews, it’s on my list, and I’m willing to give it a shot. I LOVE couscous, lentils, and most of all hummus!!

So, that’s what we cooked up yesterday, in anticipation of my visit. Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture to share with you because I loaned out my camera. But I can give you the recipe (which varies widely!) my lovely daughter, Mikki, used today.

Cook up a couple cups of garbanzo beans. Those are also called chick peas- not to be confused with Dude Peas.

If you don’t want to cook them, open a can of them.

Get out your blender, and throw them in, along with: about a ½ cup of the bean juice, a ½ t. salt, 1/3 cup olive oil, a nice big handful of parsley, 1 clove of garlic, about ½ t. black pepper, ½ t. cumin, the juice from a lemon, and a few tbls. of sesame seeds. If you have it, use tahini instead, it’s better.

Now press blend. If you need to stir it down and do it a few times, well, then by all means, do it. This isn’t rocket science, folks! It’s a versatile dish and you can add curry, soy sauce, a little chopped onion, you name it- get creative. Serve it with lots of fresh pita bread, chopped tomatoes and cucumbers, yogurt, and fresh fruit. Low cal, Ladies and Gents, easy as pie (which is the stupidest idiom I’ve ever heard, cuz pie is pretty tough), and tasty!!

After you have a meal of this, I’m sure you’ll be wanting to sport your fanciest belly dancing jobbie, and shake your tambourine!

This is one recipe I will have to decline. :sad2:

I. Just. Cannot. Do. IT!!!!!!!!

I've tried hummus a few times and, well, let's just say it probably looked like someone I know who gags during teeth brushing... :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

But anyways... I still like MOST of your recipes! I must admit, I haven't tried any yet.:badpc::badpc:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

You sound like me and Tonga... :rotfl2:

You know, you can still get Tonga without the bananas?

If you order the BIG KAHUNA, you get french toast smothered in cinnamon and sugar-just like the Tonga, minus the bananas.

Just throwing that out there! :goodvibes

Hummus is great! It is one of the things I love to bring to a party, people always love it and it is easy to make! I did not know that chick peas can also be called garbanzo beans - can't they make up their mind wether they are peas or beans?? :confused3

Yes, but she can also get the Macadamia Nut pancakes which are the best pancakes I ever had!! :yay:

I LOVE hummus, and I had a recipe, but this one works too :) It looks like it has more flavor than the recipe I have.

And so if I'm not too late, my answer for the trivia questions: She will get bored, or might get bored, something like that, in World Showcase, so then she can make an excuse and go visit the hot tub :cool1: are you impressed?

Ok, so you never responded to the invite for meeting up to do a race for the taste or princess half marathon in 2012:rolleyes1 or was that on purpose? :rotfl:

OHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOO, the toast vs. pancake tug-o-war!! This is simply too difficult!! I say get both and share!!

OK, REALLY, I AM going to run in a couple hours!! No excuses.

When I lived in NC for a few years, now about 10 years ago, Judy sent me to the grocery store with a list, and one of the items was couscous. I had no idea where in the store that would be so I went up to the info. counter (or whatever it's called). A teenage boy and girl were working the counter that day, and when I asked where the couscous was they looked at me like "are you putting me on?" They'd never heard the word before in their lives. I explained what it was and they were able to direct me to the "international" section. I think they were surprised that I actually came back with the stuff. They still weren't sure it was real.

By the way, I've made carrot ginger soup twice in the last couple of weeks. Once while Judy was away at PChef conference and once since she's been back. Mmmm. I scaled back the sugar and ginger that the recipe calls for...I thought it was a little too sweet and a little too "bitey" from the ginger.

I think there are as many recipes for hummus as there are cooks! Which is waht makes it so great.

NEVER TOO late! I'm very impressed!

Well, I have a bunch of research to do... AND getting my DH to agree to letting me go again, will be tough. If I had to choose, I'd say I'd like to be good enough to do a 10K, but only if there's food and wine at the end.

Yes, but she can also get the Macadamia Nut pancakes which are the best pancakes I ever had!! :yay:

VERY TRUE!!!!!!

I have this dilemma every time I eat breakfast at Kona. Should I get the BIG KAHUNA, Macadamia nut pancakes, or the Tonga? I just hope my DW gets something different so we can share. There are pancakes on the big kahuna with the pineapple topping, but I don't remember if there are macadamia nuts in it too?

You know what I would really LOVE? If you have time on your trip, can you take me pictures of the different type of Mickey pirate ears and the costs. They have a pair online, but I'm not a fan, I had seen some others somewhere that I thought were cute. So fingers crossed.

Glad to hear Elizabeth is doing well!

I've always wanted to try the Tangeriene Cafe. Put that on my to do list. :thumbsup2

And many thanks for the hummus recipe. I know it's simple to make, but I've never done it, which is so silly because I love hummus, and it's good for you!

Really, it's a win win. :lmao:

And totally agree on the recipe......

No way! Really?!?! I thought the banana made it too sweet (not that the rest isn't already sweet)...

But...that means I won't get my serving of FRUIT?!?!?! Decisions. Decisions.

I think there are as many recipes for hummus as there are cooks! Which is waht makes it so great.

NEVER TOO late! I'm very impressed!

Ok - I can't help you with your DH - but you can TOTALLY do a half marathon. Today! You could do it today. I promise you if you wanted to line up for the half today that you could do it. You ran 25 minutes straight. You could do that and walk the rest of the way and be totally fine.

Most people do a walk, jog, walk, jog type of thing to get through it.

But, if I ever did it again, I would want to make sure I was fast enough to be able to stop and take pictures along the way - that was half the fun and I was so slow and afraid of being swept that I didn't do any of that.

But you can totally do a half!! Totally!

im so confused, is this the right spot for the latest updates, or is there another part or antoher report i need to look for.
:sad2:

speaking of homemade stuff, well not sure who was speakinga bout it, but i saw glenn talk about some soup up above.

i just made my first ever batch of homemade pickles this weekend, they are garlic dill, and ohhhhhh myyyyyyyyyyy they are goood, best i have ever tasted.

i brough some into my office, and got the same vote, everyone said they were the best they have ever had...i finished off 1 quart jar in the first day after i made them.

anyway sorry i rambled just wanted to share that with you.

Love hummus! Though I did find it to be an acquired taste.

Maroo - hummus would count as a vegetable - maybe you should reconsider? :rotfl:

When I liberate some MH from HD I will see how many LGMH I can grab in case anyone else needs some too. The first time I went to HD to get LGMH my DH thought I lost my mind - LOL!

Liesa - I have the basic Cricut and Disney/Micky cartridge so if you think of something last minute you need me to cut and bring to DC let me know.
