D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

No way! Really?!?! I thought the banana made it too sweet (not that the rest isn't already sweet)...

But...that means I won't get my serving of FRUIT?!?!?! Decisions. Decisions.

So I was all excited about replying to this from my cell phone (would of been my first time!!!!) then I lost service and I tried to resend my reply and it was lost...:mad:

Now I am home...... Anyways....

The french toast's thickness is that of regular bread while the Tonga is like 2-3 inches thick!

I was thinking you ladies could order the big kahuna & the fruit plate and split it. There would be more than enough food for the 2 of you! :goodvibes

Hi Everyone -

Just walked in from running, and don't have time for responses right now, BUT

just to be clear, I would love a variety of pretty, bright colors for our wishing wreath- not just lime green. Jen, you have a cricut too? I'm so jealous!

W7D1 - Check!!!! AND, if I keep the pace I ran tonight, I would run a 5K in 41.6 minutes- 3 minutes faster than last time!:banana::banana:

The weather DEFINITELY has something to do with it. It has been cooler the last couple days, and easier to run. :yay:

i just made my first ever batch of homemade pickles this weekend, they are garlic dill, and ohhhhhh myyyyyyyyyyy they are goood, best i have ever tasted.

i brough some into my office, and got the same vote, everyone said they were the best they have ever had...i finished off 1 quart jar in the first day after i made them.

Way to go! I'm impressed.

Dan, homemade pickles sound delicious!!

Liesa, well done with your run! I am supposed to run tomorrow morning. I hope it won't rain! :thumbsup2

When I lived in NC for a few years, now about 10 years ago, Judy sent me to the grocery store with a list, and one of the items was couscous. I had no idea where in the store that would be so I went up to the info. counter (or whatever it's called). A teenage boy and girl were working the counter that day, and when I asked where the couscous was they looked at me like "are you putting me on?" They'd never heard the word before in their lives. I explained what it was and they were able to direct me to the "international" section. I think they were surprised that I actually came back with the stuff. They still weren't sure it was real.

By the way, I've made carrot ginger soup twice in the last couple of weeks. Once while Judy was away at PChef conference and once since she's been back. Mmmm. I scaled back the sugar and ginger that the recipe calls for...I thought it was a little too sweet and a little too "bitey" from the ginger.

I am duly impressed! Mike would probably come through for me, but it'd take a while. I like to order this kind of stuff through a bulk ordering company based in Eastern Oregon. Less expensive that way.

I love that carrot ginger soup! I need to do this one more time before we leave! So yummy! Do your kids like it?? Mine ask for it. :thumbsup2

VERY TRUE!!!!!!

I have this dilemma every time I eat breakfast at Kona. Should I get the BIG KAHUNA, Macadamia nut pancakes, or the Tonga? I just hope my DW gets something different so we can share. There are pancakes on the big kahuna with the pineapple topping, but I don't remember if there are macadamia nuts in it too?

It's tough having to choose the best of the "all of it great" isn't it??

You know what I would really LOVE? If you have time on your trip, can you take me pictures of the different type of Mickey pirate ears and the costs. They have a pair online, but I'm not a fan, I had seen some others somewhere that I thought were cute. So fingers crossed.

I can absolutely do that!! Not a problem at all! I'll start at the PoTC gift shop.

Glad to hear Elizabeth is doing well!

I've always wanted to try the Tangeriene Cafe. Put that on my to do list. :thumbsup2

And many thanks for the hummus recipe. I know it's simple to make, but I've never done it, which is so silly because I love hummus, and it's good for you!

Really, it's a win win. :lmao:

Let us know when you go, and we'll compare notes!

Glad I have a hummus eating ally. I was starting to get worried here with Tim and my veggie-leery touring partner. ;)

:rotfl:

And totally agree on the recipe......

But...that means I won't get my serving of FRUIT?!?!?! Decisions. Decisions.

- I can't help you with your DH - but you can TOTALLY do a half marathon. Today!

And we all know that that leads to endless teasing, but great discussions here on the thread!! :lmao::lmao: Shall I be posting my gazpacho pictures again??

I think I could, but I'd like to be at a place I could jog more than half of it; I'm not there yet- by a long shot!

im so confused, is this the right spot for the latest updates, or is there another part or antoher report i need to look for.
:sad2:

speaking of homemade stuff, well not sure who was speakinga bout it, but i saw glenn talk about some soup up above.

anyway sorry i rambled just wanted to share that with you.

Yes!! You are in the RIGHT place! The older threads (pts. 1 and 2) were briefly resurrected the other day, just for fun (we still have a couple pages on each, guys!) but this is the most recent, and where all the hip people are. :lmao: (Well, the ones who really like to talk anyway.)

Kudos on your pickely endeavors!! I love it when you try a new recipe and it just works!! And especially when others say so too!! Kinda like warm fuzzies and all that. ::yes::

Love hummus! Though I did find it to be an acquired taste.

Maroo - hummus would count as a vegetable - maybe you should reconsider? :rotfl:

When I liberate some MH from HD I will see how many LGMH I can grab in case anyone else needs some too. The first time I went to HD to get LGMH my DH thought I lost my mind - LOL!

Liesa - I have the basic Cricut and Disney/Micky cartridge so if you think of something last minute you need me to cut and bring to DC let me know.

Kinda like coffee. And beer I am told. But I don't believe that one.

I will definitely let you know!!!

That sucketh. I lost internet today for a spell, and went into full blown tizzy panic mode. With my dad's impending surgery, I want to be 100% in touch!!

Nope, goin with pancakes. WITH the pink vomit.

I think I could, but I'd like to be at a place I could jog more than half of it; I'm not there yet- by a long shot!

Hey, you are further than you might think: you can nearly jog a quarter of a half marathon already. :woohoo: A half marathon is 21 km!

Dan, homemade pickles sound delicious!!

Liesa, well done with your run! I am supposed to run tomorrow morning. I hope it won't rain! :thumbsup2

With 2 25 minute-ers down, I guess that brings me to W7D2! :woohoo:

Hope it doesn't rain for you tomorrow!! I'd welcome some rain for sure!

You always think of things with such a positive perspective! I like that! Plus, I NEVER would have thought of it like that!

Way to go! I'm impressed.

:thumbsup2

Well...if you think I have ANY of those ingredients to cook with??? :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: Then we need to spend some more time together.

I cook...things like chicken, pizza, spaghetti...but if it is more than a couple of ingredients and really anything leafy or such...then I am out of luck. :rolleyes1

But I do eat hummus at the local Greek restaurant. :goodvibes And I am so counting that as a veggie from now on!

Congrats on the run! If I tried it, I'd drop over. :rolleyes1

I will cut out a bunch of Mickey heads for you and send them with the ribbon thingy............. :flower3:

Liesa,
Wow I take 4 cub-scouts (9-10yrs) to Omaha for a week and you guys fill 12 pages LOL.

Congrats on your running 25 mins I am really thinking that I need to start walking again with DH/DS so we are already for the world.

BTW thanks for bringing up the Lime Green Mickey Heads things it gave me the idea to Spell out Happy 10th Birthday to hang in our window in POP. Let me know if you need me to grab you some and send them as well. :)

Mary-Yep Hummus is a veggie and a very healthy one at that just remember you have to go out on the balcony if the "beans" come back to bite you :rotfl:

Would love the recipe for the carrot ginger soup(HINT HINT) :yay:

Well now you have all made my head 10 sizes larger with your kind words about my "ACCENT"":rotfl2: It really is NOT as British as it once was !! But still British enuff !!:rotfl2:

I too love:love: Hummus !!I did not like my meal at Tangerine but would try again and get the VEgetarian plate as the hummus and the olive stuff was great!!

Hang in there! Better days are coming!

Liesa - I staged my first ever Mickey head paint chip covert operation this evening!! :tiptoe: I ended up going to 2 Home Depots. The first store I could only take 9 chips - there were 2 employees hovering the whole time, and I could only muster up the nerve to take 9 chips! I ended up with a total of 27 chips. If you want me to get more, I'll go out again tomorrow!!:thumbsup2
