D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

Hey, can you guys be lifting up my Dad?? He was hanging a flourescent light last night with my son, Andrew last night, and the cover slipped out of his hand, and sliced his wrist bad enough that he nicked an artery and completely severed a tendon (the one that flexes the thumb up). They could not do the surgery in Bowling Green, so...

My sister and he are on their way to a hand clinic in Louisville right now to have it surgically re-attached!!!! :scared1: He really hoped to have full function/range of motion again with this!!
Wow Liesa, that is terrible to hear! I know it is a strain on you, especially since you can't be there to keep up with things! Prayers sent that everything will be taken care of quickly, completely and the healing will be swift!

No, you got it right, "server" is more accurate, and more up-to-date. Waiter is more old fashioned, but what I grew up with, soooooo, go with server. To be PC, and all that.
I thought it was called "The person who brings us food' :confused3:confused3

I need to get with the times! :rotfl:

WOW.... OH MY!!!!!

I hope he is doing OK. I will keep him in my prayers! Keep us updated!

I go back to work tomorrow and my doctor is downtown and I'm hoping to get in. I don't think it is walking pneumonia. As disgusting as it sounds, I'm finally couhging up pfhlem (I know that is not spelled right) which is helping. But I swear I did something to a rib yesterday when I coughed really hard in the monring.

Yep, he went to the park on Sunday and went to watch Andy coach yesterday. He's going back to work on Thursday and calling the cardiologist to try and schedule his visit with him for next week and the angioplasty as soon as possible (no Vegas for Grumpy).

Kathy....
I can't believe you are still sick. I hope you feel better REAL soon.

Glad to hear Mark is getting out and moving... is his sleep still pain free? Sounds like getting his surgery done ASAP is a good idea... he should be recovered nicely for September. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much, guys! It's been a really, really bad day. A really important load of books that someone paid over $1,000 for was sent out my door tonight, but ONE BOX IS MISSING!!!! Like GONE!! We can't find it anywhere!! :scared1:

Maybe Mickey himself will take my straight jacket off when I get there. :guilty:

Here servers are almost always underpaid girls, and you call them "Hey, Girl!". To us it sounds SO incredibly rude, but it isn't here at all. :confused3

I am actually VERY glad to hear you are finally having some "production" to your cough- as weird as that may sound. You easily could have coughed something out of whack yesterday- woudln't surprise me at all. Let us know what your doc says tomorrow!!

Glad you "won" this round, Kathy! Mark's health is too important for him to be stubborn about things. ;) He knows that, I'm sure.

I will let you know what the doctor says.

I hope you dad makes a quick road to recovery.
Here is my guess: I confess that I gag when I brush my teeth. Yup! There you have it, with nearly 100% regularity, I gag- out loud. If you really want to know, I come close to throwing up too. No, I'm not bulemic- AT ALL, but if the sink is not perfectly clean it tends to be worse. Neurotic I know. For all you psych majors out there, knock yourself out!

I can tell you that I am SICK of being . I have a 9:15 appointment with my doctor tomorrow morning (she is a block from my work).

He's doing great (we have this beard thingn going because he can't shave). He's going out again tonight to watch Andy's travel baseball team. I'm beginning to get a complex that he is tired of being home with me.

Just read about your Dad, praying for him right now! And praying for that box of books to show up too...! You seriously do not need this extra stress right now. :sad2: The enemy sometimes likes to kick us in the weakest moments, doesn't he?

Kathy - praying for you too! I'm glad to hear you have a productive cough now, hopefully it will soon all go away!

I am so stoked you and Joe are doing the C25K also!! It's a great program with baby steps, which is exactly the way to go!! I have to admit though, there are a couple of big jumps in there that seem/ look scary, but they ARE do=able. I've found that jogging is more than half mental!

So, if you graduate in WDW, we'll be graduating like around the smae time. :lmao: Unlike the 1 week for each week thing, I spend a couple weeks on each week. IF that makes sense. I'm in no hurry to graduate- as my ultimate reward is a Disney 1/2, and we all know THAT'S NOT going to happen anytime soon. :lmao:

However, I agree, running at Disney would be the ultimate morning workout! I can't think of a lovlier place. :cloud9:

That is awesome!! We'll both be graduates in our Happy Place! :thumbsup2 That is if Joe and I don't have to repeat a week in there...last night-90 seconds went well. Our biggest problem is having to push the stroller. We don't have a jogging stroller, so it's REALLY hard to jog with it, without it, we both do fine. So we are taking turns and that seems to work alright.

What 1/2 are you doing-F&W? A friend and I are looking at the Princess weekend, they have a full marathon (ugh!) and a 5k. It's not until Feb. so we've got time on it...we very, very much want to run through the Castle. :cloud9: She can already do a 5k, so she's way ahead of me.

I think I got this idea from other "walkthroughs" that I have seen on the internet, for example the Orlando Airport arrival guide: http://www.orlandoairports.net/arrive/index.htm

Doing it for the NYC subway system is a good idea! When I was in NYC we had signed up for a guided tour with "Big Apple Greeter" (http://www.bigapplegreeter.org/). These are volunteers which show you an area of NYC and they come and pick you up at the hotel and then the first thing on the tour is an explanation of the subway system. We did this on our first morning and it was a great way to do your first steps in a foreign city. The tour was great (we had requested the Lower East Side) and we got a lot of helpful hints about NYC! :thumbsup2

That is a great website! When Henry gets older I kinda want to be a tour guide...something like this would be perfect. I like that they teach you the subway system - once you get that, and understand how easy Manhattan is to navigate it's much harder to get lost. They have it laid out so easily once you just know what to look at! The LES is a fascinating part of the City - so much history there!

Made it through the conference report. Holy cow, I will never complain about domestic travel again. Okay, that's probably overstated, but I will at least take some satisfaction in knowing that it could be much worse.

I just finished the scent postings. I haven't had time to read any of the replies, so this may have been pointed out. For me, the Pop scent would be vanilla. Everytime we walked through the lobby or Everything Pop, I SWORE it smelled like a vanilla milkshake. You'll have to tell me after your trip if it was just my imagination.

I still have a lot to catch up on. Hope to get back to it soon.

Okay gotta share the GREAT News !!Judy got a new job, more money, Holidays OFF etcetc !! Small company, which is what she likes !!!I want her to have INTERNATIONAL wellwishes and Congrats and couldn't think of a better thread for that than right here !!Okay now I will catch up!!!!!
