Thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers. My step-father is doing better. I've been going to all of his doctors' appointments with him because I need to manage all of his medications, etc. But we will get through it!! It was scary when he was sick in Cape Cod though. My mom passed away in February, and my dad passed away on Easter day in 2009. I was petrified at the thought of losing another loved one!

I can't imagine what it was like to set your son up at school - so many emotions must fill your heart!! I hope you are having a beautiful time at the lake with your family! Counting down the days to our meet!!

Hi Liesa, I am finally finding some time for the DIS - as you know well, moving and packing is no fun! But now everything is packed and I am sitting at Katharina's place waiting for the Berlin rush hour to pass before getting into my car and drive to Nuremberg... Are you sad your moving? I hope your move is for good reasons and that your moving to a place that will bless you. Will it be far from your sister? I just looked it up, I guess it won't be a stone's throw away will it? At least y'all will be close enough to see each other in a day's time.

Weather Update!

I love our storms!

We have Hurricane Danielle now sporting winds of 85mph, but is not a threat to any land at this point! (ETA: This could hit Bermuda....???)

We also have 96L - which is expected to be named Earl in the next day or so - it is starting to get a little more organized. It appears to be just stirring up too!

Then we have a 3rd wave that they are watching that will be coming off the coast of Africa - some are already calling it the future "Fiona" - so we will see!

There is another wave behind that.

And something swirling in the GOM...

So...it is heating up out there!

I got a DEAL (steal!) on a rental car!

I am so excited!

I got a coupon in my email today for a car and have reserved us a midsize car (had to do Midsize because I get 1.5 flight credits on SW - which will put me getting a FREE FLIGHT after this trip!) ... which makes this rate even better!

Anyway...I am excited...because I got us a midsize car for 11 days for......


$163.07

I am excited because I get the flight credits, get to use the self serve kiosk (no waiting in that long line!), and we have a car for the whole trip. We won't use it the whole time - but I will need it to get to GKTW on Thursday night, go to the grocery store and anytime we have a reservation that will require us to a lot of bus hopping.

I am so excited!

Seriously, though, you should watch this hurricane...the last model had it hitting the upper east coast. Of course, they will change 200 times between now and the time it hits anything (IF it hits anything)...but that last model run is causing some buzz on my weather site.
