D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

Liesa,
Congrats on the 2nd place medal that is awesome!!! I am dreading the day I have to take Patrick and drop him off in college thank Gods I still have 8 years before we get there....Can't wait to hear about your time on the lake I love me some tubing yes yes I do :):rotfl:

Mary,
LOL so can I change my vote to Gaston now??? :lmao:

I hadn't realized it had almost been 5 years since Katrina hit New Orleans

:rotfl2:

Yeah...I am wishing I had said something a little higher in the alphabet, too!

Someone on the site said Mother Nature looked like she was prepped to have quadruplets. :upsidedow

Cynthia is back!! Hope it was a good one!!

:goodvibes[/COLOR]

Aww, thanks! I'll have a TR up soon and will shamelessly plug it over here lol!

I got a DEAL (steal!) on a rental car!

I am so excited!

I got a coupon in my email today for a car and have reserved us a midsize car (had to do Midsize because I get 1.5 flight credits on SW - which will put me getting a FREE FLIGHT after this trip!) ... which makes this rate even better!

Anyway...I am excited...because I got us a midsize car for 11 days for......

$163.07 :woohoo:

I am excited because I get the flight credits, get to use the self serve kiosk (no waiting in that long line!), and we have a car for the whole trip. We won't use it the whole time - but I will need it to get to GKTW on Thursday night, go to the grocery store and anytime we have a reservation that will require us to a lot of bus hopping.

I am so excited!
:thumbsup2:cool1::thumbsup2

I come to shamelessly plug my new PTR for my family's March 2011 trip.

I figured you all needed something to read now that this thread isn't going 10 pages a day! :rotfl2:

I'm in!
Feel free to plug away! :)

Ok...this is funny...and only you guys will get it...

The website I am on...www.wunderground.com...

Someone just said that Earl is going to be an Earl of Sandwich! :lmao:

They think he will get sandwiched between Danielle and Fiona! The hurricane Earl of Sandwich. :rotfl:

I just had to share....

:rotfl2:

Yeah...I am wishing I had said something a little higher in the alphabet, too!

I think you are excited!!!!! LOLOL :lmao::lmao::lmao:

That is a great price for 11 days! AWESOME!

Well, if it hits in anywhere in New England that could certainly make my life more interesting, that's for sure!
HUMMMMMMMMM Mine would be more interesting too... Although we are about 30 miles from the coast.

I will never be tagged. :)
Do you have a no tag policy?

Me neither !!Lord knows I have tried !!:rotfl2: To Heck with The Fairy Godmother I need me The Fairy God Father !!:rotfl2:
UMMMMMMM this is a family board Rosie!!!! :lmao::lmao:

1st swirlie heading out to sea....

2nd swirlie ????? :confused3:confused3

In Maroo's words... I hope it is a fish storm! :lmao:

:rotfl: Me too!!!

Hi Liesa, I am finally finding some time for the DIS - as you know well, moving and packing is no fun! But now everything is packed and I am sitting at Katharina's place waiting for the Berlin rush hour to pass before getting into my car and drive to Nuremberg... I hope you have a fantastic time on the lake! :goodvibes

Oh goodness! I hadn't realized you were moving just now! I thought that was done before Liesa arrived. I'm guessing you are now in Nuremberg and starting the process of unpacking and settling again. I hope it all goes smoothly for you!

Then we have a 3rd wave that they are watching that will be coming off the coast of Africa - some are already calling it the future "Fiona" - so we will see!

There is another wave behind that.

And something swirling in the GOM...

So...it is heating up out there!

Okay, I wasn't serious when I picked Matthew, but if it keeps up like this! :scared1: They better all be :fish: storms!

Clue me in on how to get car rental deals! I don't need one for Disney, but WILL for travel back when I visit the family in Minnesota. What websites do I join? How do I get the rewards credits to an airline, or anything else?! HELP!

I come to shamelessly plug my new PTR for my family's March 2011 trip.

The shameless plug worked for me! I'll be over...:surfweb:

there are many days I wish I had a stick my head in the mud policy. :upsidedow

I just can't do it since Katrina - :sad2: She ruined me.

Don't worry. I'm convinced that national disasters only happen when my family adds a child and since we are DONE adding children, you should be safe. Phoebe was born right before 9/11 and Tessa was born right after Hurricane Katrina. It's part of why we nickname her Hurricane Tessa. (We lived in DFW at the time and dh was working massive OT bringing in survivors, some of whom were housed in empty jails in Dallas). Crazy times!

Oh yeah, congrats on the car deal! I love good deals. :goodvibes

This is great Maroo!!!
We hardly ever have to rent cars, but I'm wondering how in the world you got such good favor in this area! :goodvibes

Wow. It seems amazing to think it has already been five years!

I'm doing well, thank you! I've been meaning to email you, it's been so long since we chatted. The bean is good. He's also Squirt, Squishy, and (only at home, not on the DIS) my little monkey. LOL

I did break 10,000, I was quite proud! And my 10,000th post was a pic of Jack Sparrow, as is fitting. :thumbsup2

Wow, five years. It seems like yesterday and a long time ago all at the same time ya know?

The names we called my daughter in the tummy were Skeezicks and Boofers, out in the real world she had so many nick names I thought to finally ask her if she knew her name! :rotfl: She knew, thank God! Monkey was for sure one she was called a lot (calling her this brought about her first sentence by the way), Poo poo, Kissy was her first (cute story behind this one), Little bug, Bug, Mackie (since her name is Mackenzie), she has about ten in all.

Speaking of Jack Sparrow....When I was at Costco the lady ahead of me was paying for her things and the cashier asked..."Is the Pirates Booty all your getting today?" (It's some sort of snack in a bag) And before I even thought about it for two seconds I said..."The only Pirates Booty I better be getting is in the form of Jack Sparrow." The look on both of their faces along with my children was something like this... Then! My son said something like "Way to be quick on the draw mom!" I thought of this for you TarzansKat when you mentioned your 10,000th post. :goodvibes
When are you due again? Your ticker isn't behaving for me to see.

I doubt it will hit anywhere (except maybe Bermuda)...but it about crashed the other site I was on when it was sent out...lol

I will never be tagged. :)

Tell me about it! I've had some pretty amazing zingers and the Fairy seems to fall flat every time!

Me neither !!Lord knows I have tried !!:rotfl2: To Heck with The Fairy Godmother I need me The Fairy God Father !!:rotfl2:

I'm feelin ya there Rosie.

[\QUOTE]

I personally always use Alamo...because I can usually get the best deal there and they have a self serve kiosk so you don't have to wait in line. :)

This time I used three different codes - one I got from www.mousesavers.com - they have GREAT car rental coupon codes. I also used one I got from the DIS transportation (or was it budget??) board and I used a code I got from southwest so I could get credit for it. It only worked if I got a midsize car - I usually go economy, but it will be nice for the lovely ladies to have a bit of extra room. :goodvibes

Swirlie Watch 2010 is heating up pretty fast...check out the lastest swirlies...

seriousswirlies-1.jpg

Basically that top one is Hurricane Danielle - which the models have shown doing anything from curving out to sea :fish: to hitting Virginia? :confused3 At one point last night the models had it going in 6 different directions. :rotfl: Time will tell. Probably still a :fish: storm (or may hit Bermuda...which is really close out there to the :fish:, in my opinion.

The pink arrow is pointing to Earl - who is now a Tropical Storm and should be a hurricane in a couple of days (personally, I think it will be sooner)...

Then we have the next swirlie...soon to be 97L, I think. And eventually Fiona?? And that one, supposedly, has a better chance of hitting the CONUS.

Then we have 3 more "waves" that people are watching... Mother Nature has been busy.

Maroo, I was just going to post in a little gloat that we are up to Fiona? and you've already done a whole science lesson for us! :goodvibes

Wow. That's some sophisticated tracking you've got going on there.

Those were some crazy times!

I feel the same way about going to meet up with my friend Sharon - I had trips planned to see her in Florida right before Frances (those were canceled), then Ivan (those were canceled and she evacuated here), then Dennis (we canceled those too!)...so when it was time to go see her again - in late August 05 - I told her I did not care WHAT storm came - I was coming to see her anyway! I think I said, "Come h*ll or high water, I am coming to see you anyway!"... Well, both h*ll and high water came. :sad2: So we stopped setting up times for me to go see her. But we did just fine on our trip to Disney last year! No bad weather! So we are good to go now!

Maroo, I was just going to post in a little gloat that we are up to Fiona? and you've already done a whole science lesson for us! :goodvibes

ha! I promise this is not from my brain! I am totally stealing this from smart people on www.wunderground.com. :thumbsup2

Wow. That's some sophisticated tracking you've got going on there.

Totally stealing the pictures and such! But it looks like you guys are in the clear for now! So that is good! :)

And that is as far out as it goes.

The bolded temps are the "comfort" temps - I assume this is the heat index? Looks pretty hot.

Let's see how much it changes and how much of it pans out. :)

that's about what it was for our trip though we had more rain.

So..... how did you handle the heat? Any suggestions?

Last year I did AM in the parks - went back to the resort about 1:00 PM and took a shower and then went back to the parks each evening. I took 2-3 showers a day. :upsidedow

Liesa doesn't have that much shower time banked in the schedule. :rotfl:

Pardon the hijack, but I just wanted to say I'm really looking forward to your trip report. :goodvibes

me too!!!
