D.C. on points?

My family is considering a spring break trip to Washington D.C., and as we just bought SSR and got all of 2005 points we are thinking about using some for that trip. Has anyone ever used points there and if so how was it? any suggestions?

Two years ago my husband and I used some of our vacation points to cover the cost of a hotel in DC. At that time the hotel was the Jefferson - very nice and only about four blocks from the White House. It worked very well for us - we paid for two nights in cash and the other two with points.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat, especially at the Mandara Oriental....that's just yummy!
