Cypress Pointe through hotelkingdom.com - too good?

O.k. I'm new at all this. Since this is a timeshare, exactly how does that work when you book through Hotel Kingdom. Do you have to sit through a presentation, and if not, do they bug you all the time????

Hi Penzish,

To advoid time share, you go to
hotelkingdom.com and book Cypress Pointe for about 75.00 to 100.00 a night.

It's a a wonderful location, there is a huge supermarket hidden behind the Resort. Accross the street is a post office. A little further is Walgreens, as well as many resturants.

The Cypress Pointe is also located very close to Disney.

No presentation, at all. (unless you want it)

Hope this helps.

Patricia

I booked a two bedroom at Cypress Pointe...through Hotel Kingdom... for my last two trips. I couldn't have been more pleased. :thumbsup2

You'll love Cypress Pointe. :)

Would it be resonably feasible to stay at Cypress Pointe and visit theme parks or other locations in WDW four or five times in a week stay without having a car? We don't want to rent a car nor pay the cab fare each time.
From what I can tell Cypress is about a mile from DTD, where we could catch a bus to anywhere in WDW but am not sure about the walk to DTD. It is just the wife and I and we like to walk but am not sure about walking back to Cypress at 11pm.

it is a little further than Sheraton Safaris.

This is not a good location for walking - very, very busy road.

I think they were working on building sidewalks - but if that was what was going on they are on the opposite side of CP...

I will look when I am down there next month.

if you don't have a car staying offsite is not a good ideal.

now it can be done if you don't mind sitting on a bus that goes to other places before it takes you to the park. some offsite hotels have a free shuttle. the one at cypress pointe is not free and they explain that in their website.

if you don't want to drive (or can't) then I would stay at Pop. It is a value resort on site at WDW. If you pick the right season it can be reasonable.

value season for pop is Jan 1 - feb 15, august 27 - Oct 4, nov 26- dec 19.

also you can rent points from a DVC member and stay at OKW for $80 (sun-thurs no housekeeping) - studio has a mircowave and under the counter refrigerator. the month of Jan, Sept, Oct, most of Nov and Dec.

if you must travel during spring break then Feb 16 - April 22 - this is peak season.

Pop will be $115 + 11.5% =$128.22

feb 26 - april 30. - also June 11- August 15
OKW will be $110. (sun-thurs) no housekeeping

I am another happy hotelkingdom customer. We own at dvc now, but whenever we don't stay on property with points, then I use hotelkingdom. I wouldn't go any other way again. We've been using them for about 3-4 years.

We are going the week of 10/14 - 10/21. How does this renting of points from DVC members work? Is there an online source for information on this procedure?

you are staying on a weekend - DVC reservations works best for Sun-thurs (leaving on Fri)

yes - Doc has FAQ on this site
http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=29

Oct 14, 2006 - sat - 21 points per night so $210
Oct 15, 2006 - Sun - 8 points so $80
Oct 16 - Oct 19 - Mon-thurs - so 8 * 4 * $10 = $320
Oct 20, 2006 - Fri - 21 points per night....

the total for your stay would be $820... if you don't say sat or fri then it would be $400.... (I would go with offsite at airport(one with a shuttle) or Pop Century for Sat - definitely Pop century for frid - unless you have an early morning flight) then you still get the benefit of DME.

I have walked to DTD from Cypress Pointe a number of times. It is sidewalk all the way (stay on the Crossroads side & cross at the road to DTD). Took about 25 minutes. I've walked it as late as 11PM - still plenty of pedestrians (and cars) even then. It is one of the very few areas in Orlando (International Drive is another) that actually has decent sidewalk access. Do be careful of traffic and I'd hesitate on a rainy day. Enjoy!
