Our first impression upon arrival was very good. The condo was very clean and spacious and appeared to be well equipped. We had a 3 bedroom for 4 adults and 4 children and we had plenty of room. We stayed in Windham Cay on the 2nd floor. We were close to the pool and clubhouse and it was very quiet. The location and proximity to Disney was very good and we had easy access to a grocery store and a Walgreens.
Now onto the negatives. All of the appliances were very poor. They were new but they weren't quality. The dryer was horrible. I would put a load of clothes in the dryer and at the end of the cycle I would open the door and water would literally pour out, the clothes were still that wet. It took us well over 3 hours of drying time to get a load dry. The dishwasher worked well enough but the bottom drawer was busted and it was very loud when run. The refrigerator in the lockoff did not work and 2 of the lamps in the condo were not functional. The jacuzzi tub in the master bath could not have the jets adjusted, it is permanently stuck on 4 so if you just wanted lighter jets then you were out of luck. We could not use the bathtub in the main bathroom, the faucet was coming off the wall and the shower button was stuck in the on position. The pull out couch bed was awful. The staff were more focused on trying to get us to buy into the timeshare than they were making our stay enjoyable. The pool and hot tub were full of sand from the volleyball court. There is an outdoor shower to clean the sand off with but the only way to turn it off was a good 6 feet from the ground. I'm short and couldn't reach it, dh had to turn it on for me to use. Needless to say there is no way that a child could reach it to turn it on.
I got this place through skyauction so I can say that it was worth what I paid. But I would only stay here again if given the same deal. There are too many nicer places in the area to stay to pay too much for this.
I have now stayed at 3 timeshare properties in the area and my order of preference is as follows:
1. Sheraton Vistana - We were in the Lakes section and the condo was very nice and the location was just as good as Cypress Pointe.
2. Orlando International Resort Club - The only reason this isn't number 1 is because of it's location. It is close to Universal and not Disney. But the unit was very nice and comfortable and the staff was top notch. It was worth the drive every day.
3. Cypress Pointe - It was nice enough, but I wouldn't pay over $200 a week to stay here.
