You might have noticed I have another post going re: rental Wydham Palms resort for 4/2003...However, I am also looking to trade my timeshare in August. I am considering the Cypress Pointe Grandvillas, Cypress Pointe & Sunterra Polynesian Isle. Anyone know if CP & CPGV are part of same resort, maybe just different sections? If so, which is preferable? Any info from anyone who has stayed at any of these 3 is appreciated. Is there a washer & dryer in a 2 BR unit? How's the drive to the parks? Age of the units? Condition? Spaciousness?

Thank you all for your great information!!!

hi , i think that cypress pointe and cypress pointe grand villas are the same, we stayed at cypress pointe grand villas last september and they were beautiful, the grand villas are just a newer section, so that is what we asked for.BTW if you are interested in this resort be sure to check out www.hotelkingdom.com they have very good prices for the villas i think it is like 89.00 a night for a 2 bedroom.
hope this helps.

sorry i forgot to post that there is a Wand D in the units, the drive to disney gate is probably 5 minutes, the units are very spacious, dont know how old the units are but they are very nice.
the beds in a 2 bedroom is a king in the master 2 twins in the 2nd bedroom and a full or queen size pullout sofa cant remember on that one.

Yes, they are two phases of one resort. The GV is newer but Phase I is recently refurbished and offers the pool with the kids' slide. I would think either would be very nice and both are reportedly in very good condition. The floorplans are good in both sections though the 2nd BR in the 3BR lockoffs (or 2BR) can be quite small. If that BR is only used for sleeping, it's fine! The LRs & MBRs are comfortably sized.

Yes.

How's the drive to the parks?
5 min. to TL & DD.
10 min. to Epcot, MGM & BB.
15 min. to AK or the TTC parking lot of MK with an extra 5 min for the monorail to the entry gate at MK.

Those are condo door-to-gate figures, if you are arriving early in the morning with average traffic and typically fast tram arrival (or bypass the tram because you park so close in). It really can be as fast as waiting at a Disney resort bus stop for a crowded bus shuttle.

We found the location of CP to be very, very convenient! The 3 BR GV unit we had was perfect for our group (me, DH, MIL, SIL, 2 kids ages 9 & 10). The kids took the twin room, MIL & SIL shared the king master bedroom, and DH & I took the lock off part. It was wonderful because we had 2 doors between us & the kiddies! And MIL, LOL!
