Cypress Pointe Grand Villas

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has ever stayed here and if so what did you think of the place? We are considering a 3 bedroom villa in september.

We got a 2BR villa at Cypress Pointe Grand Villas for $85/night at New Years, and we were very happy. It the newer section of Cypress Pointe. The second BR had 2 twin beds, and a second bathroom. There are 2 pools, and a minigolf course on the property which has several (3, I think) different timeshare/condo areas. Through Hotel Kingdom, we did not have to take the timeshare tour, and the resort is very close to the Downtown Disney entrance. We felt that for $85, it was great. Others have paid less, or gotten a 3 BR for what we paid, but it was for 3 nights, including New Years Eve.

I am looking at maybe trying CPGV 2 bedroom for a stay on our last night. I'm undecided between this, or one night at the AKL. I can save money by staying at CPGV. But, that's not a factor. What would be is the location and if the so call, Disney magic that you may lose?

I guess the basic thing I want to know is " Is the place clean?"
Was it close to everything? Were the pools nice? Anything you can tell me would be great.

From my experience, the place was clean and nice. The pool areas were nice, but not fancy or themed. There was a play area and mini golf, too. It was a short drive to the Downtown Disney entrance to WDW.
We found it very convenient to Disney, further to Universal. If you decide to stay there, get an Orlando map, because the area has a lot of different developments and can be difficult to get around unless you know where you are going. I would say that if we needed a place to stay again where we didn't want to stay onsite at WDW, I would go there again.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom in Grande Villas - in building B second floor facing pool (we have been home 1 day and I can't remember the room # - 26 or 28).

The unit was extremely clean when we arrived. Appliances, floors, bathrooms, etc. The only thing I wasn't happy with was the condition of the cushions on the two chairs in the living room and the carpet. We stopped at the front desk to pick up our room safe key ($1/day) and asked if they could be replaced. By the time we came back from Winn Dixie it had been taken care of. As far as the carpet goes, we just wore shoes all the time. It was clean, but just old and stained.

The living room and dining room furniture was a bit worn where the paint on the wicker had come off.

The turtle pool was right below our unit. Our daughters (9/6) loved it. Depth was from about 3 to 5 feet. There were always enough tables/chairs to go around. Kiddie pool was near by, but in seperate fenced area. There is also another pool in the GV area near the mini golf. We also visited the Volcano pool one day. The slides were just regular playground type slides. My youngest is not a strong swimmer yet and there was not a good area for her to play in as there was at the Turtle pool.

The resort is very close to Downtown Disney. It took less than 5 minutes - and we had a breakfast at Cape May - that only took 15 minutes to reach.

We've been going to CP for the last 10 years as my family from the UK are owners there. We always enjoy our stay and look forward to going each time. I have pictures too from our last stay March/ April 2003 if anyone would like to see them just email or PM me and I'd be more than happy to send them along!
