Cvs weekly 5/8-5/15

I am just getting through my coupons from the last two weeks :scared1: and I just noticed something...

Did anyone else NOT get the May P&G insert?

Well, I bought my paper at CVS and I had to go thru 4 papers before I found one that had it. For that matter - one paper had had every flier that had a coupon in it removed (Macy's, Toys R Us, Bobs, etc.). Another had had all the coupon inserts removed. :sad2:

Ok, I am armed with coupons, a $3 ECB and the $5 off $25 coupon....and not sure what deals to do this week...may make a trip today...any ideas/suggestions to get me started again? You guys rock :worship:

Do you have a lot of carefree coupons? They are $1 each this week and if you have any qs that don't have a size restriction you can use those with your $5/25 to bump your total.

Did you get the $10/1 bayer coupon (we didn't :( ) It's $19.99, then get some free or cheap with qs to bump you to $25 and get back $15 in ecbs for the monitor. Keep an eye out though it's only printing $5 ecbs, it should print $15 so make the manager fix it with an additional ten if it doesn't work right.

A lot of people don't agree with me on this one but in instances where you have such little in ecbs, it might benefit you to skip the $5/25 for a lower OOP if you do not have the bayer q.

Get the reach floss, $1.99 mint waxed use $1 q if you have one, get back $2 in ecbs. Monthly limit of 2. I suggest buying one at a time because the limit was changed and I don't know if 2 will print at once.

We're back from a lovely week at the World! I got little DD her first time button and it was very fun!

And, I even made it to CVS Sunday and got the toothpaste, Kotex, Shampoo and some Huggies. :woohoo:

I got the stink eye :crazy2: from 2 ladies behind me since I did two transactions, but OH WELL!

Now, here is the first of our Lobby CVS card photos:

Smiller is on the left, I'm on the right. The CVS cards are looking good, yes?:teacher:This is from the POR lobby. I didn't like this resort alot but we were only there for one night. Smiller says I complain too much.

You both look fabulous, love the picture!!

What the heck is going on in Chicago? Now the CVS employees are killing people for stealing toothpaste?

Investigators: CVS shoplifting suspect's death was accidental
May 10, 2010 9:35 PM

Ann Marie Balboa paced up and down a Little Village alley sobbing today as she searched for the precise spot where her ex-husband was choked to death after he shoplifted crayons and toothpaste from a pharmacy over the weekend.

"I was told it happened here (in the alley), but I don't know where," she said.

Chicago police said Anthony Kyser, 35, had run into the alley after stealing the small items and being chased out of the CVS Pharmacy by one employee Saturday morning. He fell unconscious during a struggle with the employee and later died, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner's office found that Kyser was strangled to death and ruled it a homicide. But Chicago police determined the death was accidental, saying a store manager put a chokehold on Kyser as he tried to restrain him. The department, though, declined to elaborate further on its decision not to pursue criminal charges.

A spokesman for the Cook County state's attorney's office said Monday evening that the office had not been formally asked by Chicago police to review the case for charges.

According to a law enforcement source, police didn't pursue charges against the store manager because there was no obvious indication that he intended to harm the shoplifting suspect.

CVS officials said the company is investigating the employee's conduct and that he won't return to work until the probe is completed.

"We are investigating this unfortunate incident and are fully cooperating with police," CVS spokesman Michael DeAngelis said in an e-mail from company headquarters in Rhode Island.

Surveillance video and witness accounts helped police piece together what happened in the 2600 block of South Pulaski Road.

According to the law enforcement source, the manager and Kyser wrestled in the alley as others stepped in to help subdue the suspect.

An off-duty Cook County sheriff's correctional officer happened to be on the scene and assisted the CVS employee by calling 911, said Chicago police Lt. Maureen Biggane, a police spokeswoman. The officer also told the suspect to stop struggling and relax, according to the law enforcement source. When police arrived, Kyser was unresponsive, Biggane said.

Authorities denied reports that the correctional officer drew a gun at the scene. Biggane said the police have reviewed surveillance tapes and "at no time is the officer seen pointing a weapon in anyone's direction."

The store manager, reached by the Tribune at his west suburban home, declined to comment.

CVS' DeAngelis refused to discuss company policy regarding employee handling of suspected shoplifters and if the store manager violated those guidelines.

Kyser had convictions for drugs and burglary, according to court records.

But Balboa, who divorced Kyser in September, said her husband of 5½ years had a good heart and was a dedicated stepfather who taught her three sons to be respectful.

After an hour of searching in the alley, she laid a small bouquet of red flowers and two balloons against a door near where she believed he died.

She was furious over the decision not to pursue charges against the store manager.

"How's it accidental?" Balboa said. "You're choking the (expletive) out of somebody. He should be fired. He should be facing criminal charges. You don't take someone's life over toothpaste."

Annie Sweeney contributed to this report.

I knew nothing of the CVS crime! Yikes!

Here is the Wilderness Lodge Lobby pic. We're NERDS! My DH gave me the crazy stare and went to hang out near the fireplace while this photo was taken. He still has trouble dealing with the craziness.;)

I loved the WL!

Now for the big disappointment. :rolleyes1 We forgot to take a lobby pic in the BLT. So instead, I took a pic of my googly eyed card eating sushi at California Grill.

and now back to the regular CVS fun. :teacher:

This is an awesome money maker I don't think I've seen here before.

Nature's Bounty vitamins are BOGO this week. If you go to their website, they have a rewards program you can earn. Everytime you earn a certain number of points, you can print a coupon for $2, $3, $4 or $5 off an item. You earn points by entering codes from bottles. You can find those codes here:
http://couponingwithmary.blogspot.com/2009/10/natures-bounty.html

Now, for the good part: Once you earn a coupon you can use your browser's back button to print a total of SIX coupons. So do this:

enter enough codes until you earn a $5 coupon

buy six Nature's Bounty vitamins for $4.99

use six $5 coupons

(your last coupon will beep because you will be using $30 in coupons on $29.94 worth of merchandise. If this makes you queasy, choose one bottle of vitamins that costs more than $5.)

with the BOGO sale you will end up with $14.97 in overage!!! The sale is not limited, so if you can print from more the one computer you are really in business!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Awesome!! I just printed $2, $3, and $5 coupons! It gave me a free $2 coupon just for signing up that I was able to print 5 times. I then put in enough codes to get a $5 coupon but it only let me print it 2 times. Then I did codes again to get enough to get a $3 coupon that it let me print 5 times. So that didn't make any sense...but I'll take whatever coupons I can get!

Now off to CVS to figure out the best deal with the coupons it gave me...

I went to CVS yesterday with my 6 $5 Nature's Bounty coupons. I bought 6 bottles of vitamins, 3 pks Cottonelle toilet paper, 1 CVS hair conditioner & 2 CVS bandaids. I used the 6 Nature's Bounty coupons, 2 cottonelle .50 coupons (that's all I had), $1 CVS hair care product scanner machine coupon & $1/2 CVS first aid products scanner coupon. I paid $3.14 oop. :banana:I paid $1 for the 2 boxes of bandaids & the rest was just tax. FREE toilet paper!!!:woohoo:My tail's happy!:rotfl2:

The cashier was new & got a confused look after the 3rd $5 coupon so I had to explain that I bought 6 bottles & could use all 6 coupons even though 3 bottles were free with the sale. Luckily the manager was behind me waiting to pay for his drink & spoke up to confirm what I was telling her.

I was only able to print the $5 coupon two times and when I redeemed extra points to print the $5 coupon again it deducted the point AND it wouldn't let me print the coupon. :headache: I'll have to enter the codes again and try tomorrow at work. I may only buy 4 bottles - but that would still be $10 in overage not too bad.:thumbsup2

thanks for explaining it to me. i went yesterday and did well (or at least i thought so). i could not print the $1 kotex coupon for some reason so i paid $4.99. i used that to buy m&MS with a B2GO coupon and a pack of liners on sale for $1. i only had to pay .01 and tax on the second purchase with the ECB i got from the first so i was happpy to only spend $5. i will have to start scanning these posts more often now that i have a card.

here are a few codes for the nature bounty site that way you can print some coupons.

left # is product code ...right # lot code
13322 36583904 - 75pts
2532 23375601 - 100pts
2386 23375601 - 100pts
2099 23375601 - 100pts
51135 23375601 - 100pts

Some codes can be entered more than one time

Just be careful with the Nature's Bounty deal. Several of my stores won't accept the coupons and apparently have backing from corporate. I am not sure of the reasoning, but I heard a customer arguing with them yesterday about it and then my cousin (who is a shift supervisor) texted me to not do the deal because it was a huge hot button at her store. Again, I don't know why....but since I don't use the vitamins and I don't want to ruffle any feathers at my CVS stores I am just going to pass. I'll let you all know if I can find out more.

I have a question that I'm sure has been asked before but I can't find it. Can I go back on another day during the same sales week and buy more of something and still get the cvs cash for it. For example the toothpaste that happens to be my favorite is free this week. It says household limit 2, and I already bought 2. So does the CVS card know that and will not print more cvs cash If I go back to the same store?

No. Any of the ECB deals have a limit set on them and the card "knows" that. You can still buy the item, you just won't get the ECB.

The other items that don't have ECB attached to them (like the Cottonelle this week that is limit 3) is just limited per transaction. So you could go in another day and buy more.

But, maybe your husband or someone would like to get a card too????
