CVS Weekly 4/12-4/18

It's been a while since I had the time to do the CVS and Walgreens thing, but since I was off for spring break I started up again. I was sad to hear from a cashier at Wags that April will be the last month for the Easy Saver coupons and rebates. She said they will not be doing anymore rebates, and the only coupons they will give are the Catalinas. Anyone else hear the same???

I thought WAGS was going to do a program similar to CVS now?:confused3

I read on a different site that Wags will end their Easy Saver program at the end of April and start a customer rewards card similar to CVS. One site said the end of E.S. was confirmed as true, but no confirmation on the customer rewards card and that might be pure rumor. Personally, I find the Walgreens register rewards VERY confusing. I always seem to be messing up something with their freebies or coupon use there. However, I've always enjoyed the Easy Saver deals and I'll miss those. Overall, I seem to do much better at CVS keeping it all straight.

I notice alot of people getting 10/100 coupons...were those from last week or this week. I always seem to get the Divine cookiespopcorn::

Me too. I have like 6 of those and the tissue ones.

I went and got 2 of the Adidas deodorant yesterday and didn't look at the price when the cashier rang me up, I was charged regular price even though the tags on the shelf said $2.50. I need to go back today and get a refund.

Be sure you have the "Intensive" scent. I understand it's the only one on clearance for $2.50. Did you use the coupon for $1 off also making it a mm with the ECB's. :goodvibes

Oh crud. I didn't look. I just grabbed what was on top of the tag that said clearance. I'll look, they're in my car.

No! I didn't have the coupon. :( That would have been a good MM.

Both stores I went to today were out of the Adidas deoderants. I got one more I can check...

I just signed up for the CVS card. Can someone please explain the basics of all this? I looked at the coupons this week and got a few things, but I don't understand it all. Thx

It;s A Happy Day was nice enough to post this a while back to I just copied it here...: Thanks Its a Happy Day:thumbsup2
You can sign up for your Extra Care Card by asking for one in the stores or clicking on this link: http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/extracarehome and signing up online (usually takes up to 2 weeks to get your card in the mail vs. starting immediately in the store). You can also reads terms & rules on same website.

Basically the card works like all the grocery stores. You need the card to get advertised sales. But you can also earn Extra Care Bucks (ECB's) by purchasing certain products. You earn a flat 2% on all sales but certain products are advertised as getting back ECB's and these products either cost little or end up free, sometimes you can even make money. For example this week Viactiv Viatimins are on sale for $5.99 and they are offering $5.99 back in ECB's so the item is free. Usually these specials are limited to 1 or 5 offers meaning you can only buy that many and still get back ECB's.

You can use mfg. coupons on top of sale prices, even if they are giving you back ECB's for the full amount of the product. So using the Viactiv example above, if you have a coupon like the one from Sundays paper of $1.00 off you can use it at the time of purchase and after ECB's you will have a $1.00 profit.

Your ECB's print after the initial transaction . You can get online to check your balance and print out your ECB's from home as well but many recommend making sure that your own local CVS will accept the home printed ECB's vs. the ones printed out on receipt paper.

Your 1st sale or even your 1st couple depending on what you purchase are usually the big cost. After that you roll your existing ECB's onto you next purchase and paying nothing or very little. The last couple transactions I have had ended up costing me OOP around .11 and .38 after using ECB's and I will be replenishing those ECB's with what I bought.

You will not get change back from ECB's so make sure you use all of it when spending. If you purchasing 2 separate items (like deodorant & shampoo) that have ECB's on them you will get back 2 separate ECB's - 1 for each item. BUT using again the Viactiv example from above - limit is 5 - if you purchase 5 in 1 shot, you will get back 1 ECB for 29.95 so if you want smaller increments, spread your transactions out over the week. Same items purchased in the same day are grouped into 1 ECB.

Your ECB's print 2 days after the initial transaction or your next visit, whichever one comes 1st. You can get online to check your balance and print out your ECB's from home as well but many recommend making sure that your own local CVS will accept the home printed ECB's vs. the ones printed out on receipt paper.

Just wanted to make sure to update this: the ECB's now print automatically on your receipts, not 2 days later. :thumbsup2

I haven;t been a good CVSer lately. I still cannot find my Itunes GCs ($45 worth) and am absolutely sick over that. I do have two little ones that like to hide stuff and I know I brought them into the house, so I keep hoping they will show up. Between E's arm and Easter, DH's mom and spring break I've been going crazy. I did go on Sat and used E's 15/75... Did the cokes, the toothpaste, the softsoap, more excedrin, a couple of tubs of huggies wipes, the softsoap refills (had coupons) and had to buy new chocolate bunnies because I left mine in the car and they melted (I told you I'm loosing my mind) I had the coke coupons $2 off softsoaps, I had some $5 IPs that didn't say diapers, they gave me full value on one, but adjusted the other. I had the toothpaste coupons and the bodywash coupon.... My oop was $33.56 ... I really hate those 15/75 they are designed to get more oop from people like us and they worked on me... I did get the coke ECB, the toothpaste ECB (x2) the bodywash ECB, and $8 ECB from the softsoap ensembles soo I ended up with $27 in ECB... not too bad considering that I got the bunnies and stuff...

Not sure if this affects anyone. But I went yesterday and bought the Softsoap Body scrub and the ECB printed correctly for $4.99 instead of the $4.49 others were reporting earlier in the week!

So I went yesterday and exchanged the Adidas deodorants I got for the clearanced ones. I got the last 2.

So what if I just returned them, but the cashier didn't ask if I received ECBs on them. Would the ECBs still work even though I returned the items?

Ehh, don't feel bad. I'm still upset I got the 4.49 softsoap bucks and did not notice in time to get it fixed. We all get out of the CVS mode once in a while, usually happens to me after a few good weeks and than I get burnt out. I also melted Easter chocolate but it was a duck I had in the yard for my DD to find. The sun melted it, it looked so sad and it was only 40 degrees here! The dumb part was after it happened we remembered the same thing happened last year! I know too how you feel about the lost giftcards b/c I hate losing things. It usually happens to me around 10 pm and than I feel the need to tear the house apart. Just think how excited you will be when you find them - have you checked coat pockets yet? I always am shoving things everywhere since I usually have the 2 little kids with me when I shop. And remember tomorrow is a whole new shopping deal day! :hippie:

I just fixed it..thanks for letting me know. I should have reread it.:thumbsup2

I've dug through every drawer and place I stick stuff. I offered the kids money or candy or a trip to the icecream place if they find them. I can clearly remember having them in my hands to put away then....nothing....

I did get the new Issue of All You mag last week (Friday maybe?) I'll type up a list of the coupons when I get a chance. I didn't think they were as good as last month's issue though.

Is this the week the tampons are doing ecb? It would be a great time to use those coupons from the being a girl boxes if you haven't already

I also got my ALL YOU as well and was not too impressed this time. It seemed to have the same coupons as the newspaper.

I did not get the Being Girl deal as I entered the wrong year and was being too lazy to try to resubmit it.

I can relate to bribing the kids. Usually it is my 3 yo daughter that finds things around here but then again, she is the one who takes things! She is a bit of a pack rat. ;)

i heart cvs has a $4 off $20 beauty coupon available (expires 4/19) and it does not say only for intended recipient - only 'limit one per customer'. I guess this means we can all use it!

What is considered beauty? Just cosmetics? I'd love to print it out for shampoo, I actually need shampoo
