Cvs weekly 3/28-4/03

Walgreens is so UN-FUN! I didn't know they didn't adjust coupons. It wasn't pretty.

Only a month until my little DD's first trip to Disney!:cutie: I'm getting very excited. We're trying 3 new resorts (we're nuts) going to POR and then WL and then onto BLT. Today was the day I had smiller here all day for help, and I told her that we're taking pics in the lobby with our CVS card. I promise! Good times!:cool2:

I almost had Cinderella hold up the CVS card when we went to CRT last July! :rotfl2:

Has anyone tried using the Reno coupon this week? I was able to use it three times last week successfully but didn't want to try it if it was getting rejected this week.

If any of my CVS buddies could use a coupon from KMart for a free $25 GC for transferring an Rx, I have a couple available and would be happy to send you one. I understand some CVSes have stopped accepting competitors' coupons, but I just transferred one yesterday from Target and used one of these coupons w/o a problem. Just send me a PM with your address if you're interested. Here's the bad news: the expiration on these is 4/10/10 and from what I understand many CVS pharmacies won't accept expired coupons.

The Walgreens I go to has become MUCH better after I called Corporate twice and they got yelled at !!! One of the cashiers is a couponer and when she is working it is almost like CVS !!Then there is a young man working and he just does whatever you tell him:rotfl2:

It is looking like cvs for me tomorrow as I am OFF during thr day!!!

Dont forget to go to next weeks and print the 15.00 coupon for the DVd making them almost free. Post #7

Thanks flakypuff! :flower3:

***Walgreen's Good Deal Alert***
Check the peanuts/snacks aisle. I was able to get 16oz. bags of "Deerfield Farms Roasted and Salted Cashews" originally $4.99, marked down to $1.29! Hope your store has some. (They come in dark red bags, found them on the bottom shelf marked with an orange clearance tag.)
Chex Mix is on sale 99 cents a bag, Chocolate Chex Mix coupon $1/2 found in 3/7 SS, so just 49 cents per bag after coupon! :woohoo: I used my RR that I got earlier this week -thanks LanaJae for the deals :thumbsup2.

Friendly reminder, check the expiration on your credit/debit cards before leaving home today. I attempted to use my debit card today at the supermarket and it was rejected. I was thinking WTH , I know there's money in there...then I realized my card expired yesterday :rolleyes1 OOPS! Thankfully I had a credit card with me.

WooHoo! So, I'm not as good as some of you, but:
2 packs of size 3 Huggies: original 11.99 each, on sale 8.99 each, buy 2 get $5 ECB
1 small container of wheat thins (for the kiddies after I pick them up) $1
Original total: $18.98
minus 2-$3 off 1 pack of Huggies
1 $3.99 ECB
1 $6.00 ECB

Grand total with tax, $4.39. WOOHOO!

And $5 ECB's plus $2 bonus ECB's. And a coupon for $3 off a box of Huggies, so we'll see if that one gets used any time soon. :)

Hi CVS friends...I don't post much lately, but check out the weekly's & your posts. I just don't get to CVS as often as I used to :(
Today I ran by to get a prescription and found some great deals in the clearance section. It's probably store particular...but I wanted to post a few of them in case other stores are clearancing too. The expirations on them were 2011 too.
Charger/Raider snuggly type blanket 5.74
Charger/Raider head wrap 1.99
Duncan Heinz choc frosting .49
pillsbury flour .84
pillsbury funfetti cake mix .64
pillsbury quickbread - banana .49
dog tennis balls 3 pck .74
micro popcorn .17 each indiv pack
Betty Crocker fudge brownie mix .88
They had lots of Stovetop stuffing, mandarin oranges and green beans in cans, but I didn't buy those. May go back to get more and donate it to the church.

For those who have interest in the evil Walgreens manager we have here, this is what I witnessed today (tried to film with my cell phone, but I wasn't ready and it was too akward):

Retired woman checks out with many Easter items. She writes a check (which takes an act of Congress to approve), the check is inserted into the receipt printing machine and is put in the drawer, BUT then something locks up on the receipt printer so cashier has to call the manager.

Manager comes up, has to have the situation explained 4 times by cashier (I am next in line, he hates me - when he was on his way up, I think he thought I was the reason he was paged).

He starts fooling around with the machine, nothing works.

Lady: I don't really need my receipt (starts to take her items)
Mgr: (puts his hands over the bags) You CANNOT leave this store
Lady: I don't need my receipt
Mgr: I need to make sure you were charged for these items
Lady: I was, I already paid
Mgr: You do not know that
Lady: Yes I do, I already paid
Mgr: How do I know you paid?
Lady: (staring in disbelief)
Mgr: The system doesn't know you paid, I don't know you paid
Lady: I paid and I don't need the receipt
Mgr: You cannot leave with this merchandise until it's proven that it is paid for
Lady: The check I paid with is in your drawer
Mgr: And you're ASSUMING I would know this?

Lana you have called corporate on them right !!! I know when I did the attitude was GONE !!!

I have called corporate and what they do is eventually refer you back to the bad manager! This time I am writing a letter and sending it in the mail. I know it wasn't a serious thing, but it shows where his head is at. I "got" what he was doing and that was making sure the charge went through, but he was assuming it was a credit card I think.

 It isnt easy to do the right thing Paula...I am very proud of you. You are stepping up. You have a say and I am glad you are going to say it. :flower3:

Maybe the letter should be cc to the SM, DM, and Corporate. Also are you familiar with "Sainted and Tainted" in the Saturday edition of the Pioneer Press? He is definitely a candidate for tainted and maybe the readers should be made aware of his nastiness.

Couldn't the cashier have spoken up and verified that she paid? Maybe the cashier is afraid of NastyPants but he/she could've just said, "I accepted a check in the correct amount from her" and let it go at that. :confused3

Well I think you guys have convinced to never shop at Walgreens - not that I ever do. I can't even tell you where the nearest Walgreens is. Luckily CVS is 5 mins from my house!

Not sure if I'm doing anything yet this week. The Cover Girl deal could be good as I think I have a few good coupons. Otherwise, I will have to wait until next week. I HAVE to do something then cause I have $7 EB expiring on the 10th.

Anyone have issues getting their ECBs with prescriptions??

I got my Winter bucks yesterday-- $1.50. It says my winter spending was ~$96, so that seems right.

Except I can also see, online, and I KNOW I used my card.. that we filled 6 prescriptions from Jan-March.

Anyone else had an issue??

I thought about sending it in to the paper, but everybody knows about him that shops there and nothing has ever been done about it. I know he's had numerous complaints.

The cashier told him exactly what happened and then he sent her away.

As bad as Walgreens is, I got over $200 in free stuff (most that we need) this week and right now am $24 ahead, even when counting tax. Also, when they do food deals, you can really do well if you can find RRs to roll back and forth - like this week, I am paying 7 cents on one transaction, walking out with $10 and 31 cents on another and walking out with $11.

Maybe your state is one that doesn't allow it on prescriptions? (or you shop in one) The $1.50 was because you didn't reach $100 to get the 2%, but most stores were scanning the "double bucks" for everything. I think I'd call and ask.
