CVS ECB deals - Sales for Week 6/24-6/30

Good job FIRSTTIMETODIZ!!!!

Isn't it an awesome feeling when you can go in there and pay pennies without even using an ECB!??? B/c then you can generate them! That $2 ecb may be an old one if you haven't been to CVS for a while. Remember they used to print 2 days after you earned them instead of immediately. Mabey you earned one and never went thru the register again?

Does anyone have 2 coppertone coupons from the BZZzzz campaign they would like to trade for?

Hello all,

I am trying very hard to learn the ins and outs of the whole CVS ECB shopping, but I must say that either I am a moron, or it is quite complicated!!

I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to ask you experts just a few ?'s...

1. The ECBs - they print out on your receipt following the purchase of qualifying products, correct? (Like the Colgate this week, for example) So ECBs can be used any time after you get them, right? And they are good for about a month? They can be used for anything - they are almost like a CVS gift card?

2. Where would you suggest I start to get into this? Should I be shopping the ECB deals at first, to start accruing ECBs?

I'm sure I'm making a lot out of a pretty simple transaction - but it seems so complicated to me (maybe it was reading all of those FAQ's and rookie tips on hot coupon world....geesh, it's certainly not "take your coupon to the store, give it to the cashier, and yay! you're done!")

Any SIMPLE tips to get me started would be sooooo very much appreciated! Something along the lines of "CVS ECB's for Dummies" :lmao:

I would replicate FirstTimertoDiz's transaction:

1- Tylenol @ 2.50
1- Motrin @ 2.50
1- Mylanta @ 5.00
1- Glucerna shakes @ 10.49
1- Glucerna bars @ 6.29

And the savings.....
(-4) /20
(-6.29) free bars with purchase of shakes
(-10.00) off Glucerna shakes
(-1.25) off any Glucerna bars
(-1.00) Tylenol
(-3.00) Mylanta
(-1.00) Motrin

Grand Total----- $ 0.24 !!

It won't cost you much and it will kick you of with $5 Ecbs to roll into your next deal. Yes Ecbs print on your reciept, they scan like a coupon but work almost like cash. Except if your bill is 9.98 and you hand over an ecb for $10, you will not get change. Its gone forever. LoL.

Do you know where to find the coupons to complete the above deal? I know you're asking, "What if I don't need that stuff" but you can give away what you don't want and we're only talking 24 cents.

Tell me which coupons you need and I'll hunt up the links for them.

You have an extracare card, right?

Hi Shannon,

And thank you for your help and suggestions!!

Yes, I do have an extracare card, so that's 1 thing I DO have. :)

As for the coupons....
I've looked through the coupons I have and I don't have any of them. I am a coupon clipper, but do not (currently) get coupons online. Is that where they are from???

ETA - I do have 2 colgate coupons that I was going to use, but it looks like there have been problems with the colgate ECBs....

First, let me start by saying a big THANK YOU, to all the expert CVSers who post their shopping plans, and links to coupons, and ways to maximize the ECBs for those of us just learning the ropes!! Now , onto yesterdays awesome transactions............

1 Glucerna shake 10.49
1 Glucerna bars 4.89
1 Breeze 2 Meter 9.99
- Glucerna bars (free) 4.89
-$4/20

- $1.25 Glucerna Coupon
= $5.84 OOP, 9.99 ECB, and money added to weight/nutrition deal

I haven't been able to get any of my CVSs to take internet coupons. :(

Kimya

Do they refuse to scan them or do they scan them and they won't go thru? If they refuse to scan them I would tell them to "try it" and see if it takes it. If they won't do it period I'd call corporate. They can do a mini training lesson. I've had one manager ask me if they were even coupons but when the register took it he said "ok"

Just about all the non-grocery stores take internet Qs (inlcuding their competetor~Walgreens). The only place I know of (yet) that won't take them is food world and I believe thats only b/c they double them..think what trouble they would be if ppl brought in Qs to double from a practically unlimited resource such as the internet!

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up!

I found $2 peelies on Sargento's stringster cheese packages. They are on sale at Price Chopper for B1G1 at 4.99 I think so not that great a deal in itself BUT the peelies with a sale would be awesome!!! PC only takes 1 coupon on B1G1 unlike our fave store CVS but I got 2 pkgs for $3 and extra peelies!!!

ETA: Exp 3/08 and some packages had $1 peelies on them too!

One of my store refused to take 5 of them i had that were the same (this was after a few days earlier they took one of them ) so i called corporate and they said that they try to not take coupons fromthe internet but its really up to the store to take it or not. It was an issue for me so i have chosen to not shop there again unless absolutely needed ( i have been only once for the monitor deal last week) but refuse to go in there for their lack of a consistent policy and that is what i told the guy. So to answer your question yes some of them just flat out refuse to accept them. I am a b***h so i am carrying around my receipt from when they did take it so if i ever run into that manger i will show it to her cuz she basically accused me of lying when i told her that she took it before.

Stop and shop has the Sorrento Stringsters on sale for $2.99 with the $2 off peelie making them $0.99 for the package. My kids are loving me this week!

What is the St. Ives product everyone is looking for?

Is it Healthy Brilliance? They had some in the clearance section at Publix today for $4.49. It comes in a bottle shaped like a hair mousse bottle. The bottle is white and gold. It looks like a lotion with some sort of tanner in it.

Uh oh..thats it! I have a $1 off Q plus there is a MIR online you can print...so free + $1! Good deal! Guess I know where I'll be stopping on Thursday.

Mine won't take them either. 2 of my locations, the cashier called a manager about the $4/20 coupon that I printed from the CVS site, but the manager said that was ok, just not internet coupons that came from somewhere other than cvs.com.

Kimya

ETA: None of the grocery stores in my area will take internet coupons either!

DisneyFreq,

There is a picture of the bottle on the St. Ives website. They had about a dozen bottles at my store.

:thumbsup2

I know what it looks like. Truth is I haven't looked for it yet. But I like 4.49 oop up front better than the 7.99 retail. Free is free but the less amount up front the better!

Ok I was just lurking on HCW and read a thread and thought it was interesting that none of us mentioned it and i missed this as well.

Its a free with card this week, memory dvd of some kind, looks like you drop off your pics and they make a dvd with them. Doesnt state a limit. I think i will drop some off today to try it out, i mean its free right? Has anybody done this before? Ill report back but i think i will try it out today, why not!..lol

You have to have a coupon from the Sunday insert. The ad states they can do it from a picture CD (like KodaK). Can someone find out if they'll do it from a "home" burned CD?

Can anyone report on successfully buying more than 1 Colgate Maxfresh toothpastes at this week's $2.77 price and getting the correct number of $2.77 ECBs?

I know it's limit 5 this week, but with our kids home before camp starts, hate to go in with them and have any hassle -- one time the manager made me wait while she called corporate because I was shorted a $1 ECBs, waited and waited (!) and low and behold, she came back and said I was right. This week I just want to go in, shop, and have the ECBs print out as they are advertised.:cloud9: :wizard:
