CVS ECB deals - Sales for Week 6/24-6/30

One thing I'd like to clarify would if it is permissible to use an ECB and a CVS coupon (such as $5.00 off any $20.00 purchase) on the same transaction, AND manufacturers coupons?

Example..

Bill total 22.00 (minus $10.00 ECB)= $12.00 (minus $5.00 CVS coupon)=$7.00 (minus $4.00 in assorted manufacturers coupons)= $3.00 cash OOP.

Is that the gist of utilizing CVS coupons, ECBs, and manufacturers coupons all at once?

Thanks!!!!

Heck yeah!! That is how all of us pay next to nothing out of pocket!!! Gotta work the system!!:lmao: :lmao:

Yeah but the trick is you have to give the $/$ Coupon FIRST, when the total is still high enough for the register to accept it. So if you total is $20, you need to use the $4 off $20 Q first. I usually give them the manu Qs next and then the ECBs. Don't forget if you have a CVS issued coupon such as $1 off excedrin printed on your receipt, you can combine it with a manufactures coupon for excedrin! You are permitted up to one cvs coupon and one manu. coupon per item!

Thanks folks; with those prices and wheelin' & dealin' such as this, who the heck needs Wal-Mart anyway?????????

They're doing the Fusion Phanton Razor deal AGAIN? Awesome!

The only real limit (except for any rules your store manager may come up with) is that you can only use the number of CVS coupons that you have items. So if you have 4 items, you can use 4 CVS coupons (and 4 manufacturer's coupons). An easy fix to this if you want to use another cvs coupon is to throw in a .33 candy bar or pencil or something to boost up your #.

Whether or not ECB count as a CVS coupon or not depends on your store. I believe from reading many boards on this, the ECB DO count as the CVS total. But many stores will force it through since its suppose to be able to be used as cash.

My CVS tells me that I need to give them the ECB's first. :confused3

Yep Maggie..I believe thats the truth..the register counts an ECB as a store coupon and will beep if you exceed the number of CVS Qs per item...no problem if they force it thru as they should but some get flustered and think you're up to something and will refuse to take it. Sounds hard to do but if you buy 4 items at $5 each, throw in a 4/20 and mabey a 2/10 worth of cvs brand items...if you use more than 2 ecbs the register will beep. I just go ahead and count my Ecbs in and cross reference my item count. Its not worth getting the hairs on the back of their neck up.

I was also told the other day they need manager approval to use a ECB over $10. (which explains why my ECB for $27 something beeped...shouldn't have bought all those mechanical oral b tb in one transaction!)

summerluv: I had one lady try to tell me that but I responded with "how will I know how much I owe you and therefore HOW MANY EC Bucks to give you if I give them to you before you subtract my coupons???" ECBs are meant to be used like cash. I would never go to the grocery store, have them ring up my items, hand them a $10 bill and then start giving them coupons to scan. Makes no sense!

Well, that's a new one:confused3 .Doesn't even make sense. You must have gotten a dippy cashier. Try a different CVS of different time of day. Or just ask for the manager. We have gotten alot of different responses from cashiers, but never heard that one before.:headache:

UNBELIEVABLE! The 7/1 ad is already up on hotcouponworld.com.

Anyone ever use a "COUPON DECODER"??? You can sign up on thecouponqueen.com for free and use theirs. You put in the upc on your coupon and it gives all the items and UPC numbers that the coupon is programed to take $$ off of. I looked up my $1/1 any J&J Baby item Q and it will actually take $1 off ANY J&J item including bandaids and such...in fact I think the decoder kicked back about 1600 items!

That is what I try to tell them, but they are adament that I give them CVS coupons first, then ECB's, then manufacturer coupons. Oh well, I try to find a different cashier every time and just play stupid. :rolleyes1

It sounds like you need to ask for a supervisor or manager. I agree with others PP, how would you know your total before mfg/cvs coupons ;) I know I have it figured out when I go in but they do not need to know that. I wouldn't even take my ECB's out of my pocket until they have rung in the $/$ coupons and mfgs and if they state differently, I would tell them to put through your coupons (ECB's are NOT coupons!) and let you know what the total is and you will then take out your payment of choice. Your payment of choice just happens to be ECB's. I would not put my transaction through any differently should I be using a gift card, cash, credit or ECB's and they need to do things properly. By you using your ECB's 1st, they will hand you back a mfg if your total was off whereas you may have a smaller ECB you could have used instead! Don't let the cashier tell you what you feel is wrong.

If i have to make up an order on the fly b/c some items are out of stock...I have no choice but to do ECBs last b/c I'm not even sure what my total will be after Qs.

I've also gotten in the habbit of asking "whats my total BEFORE tax" The other day my total was $5 and some change but the total before tax was like $3.97 I gave them an ECB for $4 instead of $5 and my order was FREE.

I can't believe how poorly trained some of CVS's cashiers are, and I spent over fourteen years in the retail grocery biz here in LA.

Anyone who tells you in which order to presnet your ECBs, coupons, mfr coupons and the rest is really clueless.

If you want to utilize your ECB to pay for your purchase so as to maximize the amount of money that stays in your wallet, then that's something that they should have no control over.

Well..I had a most excellent run today! I spent 0.47 and I DIDN'T EVEN USE ECBs!!!

I had a friendly cashier to boot!

I FINALLY FOUND THE BURTS BEES.....WOOOOHOOO!! I bought just about all they had! And they were ringing up full price (2.50) in spite of the sign for 90%. The cashier said they were ringing up correctly before (duh..I've been looking for them this whole time and they were there??) He HAND ENTERED 40, YES FORTY, at 0.25 ea...and never batted an eyelash. Of course, b/c I bought the monitors, he had to stop and get approval for the Qs. And then after holding up the line that whole time I was walking away and he says "wait, didn't you say you wanted a rain check for that monitor?" (I had to get two of the minis..they were out of the ultra II).

My purchase:

39.98 One touch mini x 2
10.00 Burts Bees x 40
0.88 Reeses crunch bar x 2
-------------------------
-10/50
-39.98 (monitor Q x 2)
-0.44 CRT BOGO reeses crunch

oop 0.47! And I received TWO 10/50 CRT (wierd, huh?), $2 off Eucerin CRT, and $5 off $15 purchase of st ives (WAAAHOOOOO...I was hoping for this one!)

So *patting self on back* I got $100 worth of burts bees today for FREE!:cloud9:

AND I went to food world today. Found a "discontinued" flavor of Bulls eye marked down to 1.09 and i had (2) $1 off Qs....I paid 0.09 each! Its raging wing flavor..sure DH will figure out something to do with it.

That is awesome!!! I have yet to see the Burt's Bees more than 50% off so far, so I have been holding out. Will buy if they go lower and add to my gift drawer!

Where is everyone finding the Burts Bees? At my CVS it is in the makeup section, and all full priced. :confused3

At mine it is on it's own display attached to an end cap- all full price. I love Burt's Bees lip stuff and soaps. Pay full price for them all the time. If I see 'em on clearance I'm getting $20 worth for $16. Not the best OOP, but well worth it!
