CVS ECB deals - Sales for Week 6/17-6/23

I didn't get my ecb because I bought 4 nailpolishes on clearance. But no where on the ad does it say the item can't be on clearance. According to the manager I talked to, it might not be giving ecb's because it's out of a certain system from being an older product. So he gave me my ecb on a gift card.

Some of the polishes are on clearance. The worst part is that they aren't marked so you don't know you're buying them on clearance. Clearance items don't count towards ECBs. I would take the polishes back and exchange them for two of the "pricier" polishes (2.49 ea) or get two more lacrosse items.

In general clearance items are items they will no longer be stocking on the shelf so they delete the information out of some part of their system. The items ring up (Watch the prices) but for whatever reason do not get cross referenced to the ECB program as they are no longer stocked items.

You can do a couple things in the case of no ECB. As long as you have fulfilled the terms of the ad - purchase X.xx dollar amount, purchase 4 products, etc. You can point out that you should have gotten an ECB for _______ and the cashier may need to call a supervisor but they should be able to compensate your ECB amount - usually in cash or gift card. Or, you can email or call customer service with the information - I purchased _____ on ______ and the ad states _______ and they can credit you the ECB amount to print in 48 hours. Or you can return and purchase other items (or just purchase more) to generate the ECB. Alot of the polishes are coming up clearanced although not marked so up to you on how you handle it.

And Disfreq is right about the CRT's - sometimes you will get crt's for items you have never purchased and other times you will get them for things you buy regularly. There is no rhyme or reason but I think they print out things that are already or are going to be on sale to encourage the consumers to purchase them. You will also go through droughts (sp?) where you get nothing! 1 of my cards I am always getting them, on the other nothing!

I have to say that I am LOVING all of the CRTs I am getting lately. I am getting more of them than ECBs!!! LMAO!

What does CRT stand for?:confused3

They are the coupons that print out with your receipt on "cash register tape"/paper. They are completely random or so it seems and vary from $ off coupons like the $4/20, sale specific items - $3 off garnier nutriste, etc. - to freebie items (rare). You will also get CRT coupons for items like a free card/candy bar/stickers but those are buy x amount and get the next one free type thing.

I have tried to add an abbreviation decipher to the OP for anyone not sure what some of the lingo is that is used on a regular basis.
Abbreviations:
ECB = Extra Care Buck
PSA = Prices starting at
CRT = Cash Register Tape
WYB = When You Buy

The St Ives coupon off smartsource say good for one "St Ives Healthy Brilliance". Has anyone seen these products? I was not able to use the coupon on the products they had in store- would not scan. Manager said he never heard of Healthy Brilliance line of St Ives.

I have actually been looking for this product for about 6 weeks to use a MIR for the entire purchase price along with a $3.00 coupon I have. I saw the product last week at Kroger but I have yet to find it anywhere else that I have looked during the last 6 weeks. I am hoping that CVS will have it on their shelf fairly soon.

YOu know I joined and i havent heard anything at all, kinda dispointing really, i had totally forgot abou it until you mentioned it just know.

It's a Happy Day,

Do you know if everyone that takes the survery gets ECB's? I took it and it didn't mention anything about it.

:confused3

The email stated:To thank qualified respondents for taking time to complete this survey, CVS/pharmacy will credit your ExtraCare account with a total of $10 in *Extra Bucks beginning on July 6, 2007. Extra Bucks for completing surveys will not show in your online account, they will print on the bottom of your register receipt at any CVS/pharmacy store after you made a purchase and had your ExtraCare card scanned.

I was thinking the same thing and then got this email, so keep checking your email box - don't forget to check those trash folders too in case it gets dumped as junk mail.

I just found this advisory panel, signed up and sent you (Sally) an invite to join. Sheesh just when I think I'm on top of things you have me beat by a day!

I signed up over a month ago but hadn't heard so much as a peep from them. I have checked to see if they posted surveys on the website and you had to check in but still nothing so I was :cool1: to see this 1 in my inbox. Fingers crossed the ECB prints after 7/6. I appreciate thinking of me though!

All right had a "doh" moment. Try this:

17.94 - 6 St. Ives
1.99 - Kashi
1.50 - coke 20 oz
-4/20
-5 crt
-6 st ives
-1.99 Kashi
-1.50 coke coupon - thanks to a mycokereward code! Could use any .50 candy bar or some other "freebie" after coupon item to push it over $20!

$2.94 OOP or using ECB's and receive back $5 :cool1: Ta-da, made it work!
Good suggestion on how to use that St.Ives $5/$15 CRT! Shoot no man.coupons here for St.Ives (and I'd searched the thread but didn't see internet ones??), decided to just go for the 4 emery boards as part of the Sally Hansen-Lacross $5 ECB offer. I'd previously bought 4 Sally Hansen nailpolishes but they were clearance priced (50% off) and didn't qualify, but it's OK because they made for free filler in conjunction with the CVS $4/$20 coupon and 2-SH $1 coupons:

Today's trip:
2 Lacross emery boards: $1.79 x 2
2 Lacross emergy boards (larger ones, as no more $1.79 ones): $1.99 x 2
1 photo printed to send to grandma: $0.29
1 Reese's (balance ran negative & grabbed this as kids with me): $0.44

Less B1G1 1/2 off Lacross -$0.90
Less B1B1 1/2 off Lacross - $1
Less Sally Hansen/Lacross $1 off 2 coupon, found near polishes - $1
Less Sally Hansen/Lacross $1 off 2 coupon, found near polishes - $1
Less $2.99 ECB
Less $1 ECB
---------------------------------
OOP = 40 cents + 2 cents tax
Received $5 ECB.
Not as much fun as using the $4/$20 or $10/$50 coupon too, but couldn't pull anything together while keeping oop under a buck.

Thanks for the reminder about the CVS advisor. Did once get invited to do a survey but then never got the survey (checked my junk folder, no deal) so am keeping fingers crossed that will get another invite in the future -- I'd even do for free.

Boodle.com has one but I think it's the product (healthy brilliance?) previously mentioned that nobody can find in the store. I know you've done the deal but if anyone else needs Q's and can find the product.

I did get that email...thank you! If that is what prompted the survey to pop too then doubly thanks :goodvibes I love free money!!! Especially to spend at CVS because it's not one of those things where I now have to find something I want there - like those gift cards someone had to give you for the stores you've never set foot in :rotfl:

Ah, I didn't check there, but do recall people asking about "Healthy Brilliance". Still haven't done this deal and feel like that $5/$15 CRT is burning a hole in my pocket. Thanks again for sharing, I thought I was a good shopper, but you are awesome. :cheer2:
