Second thing I learned..don't doubt the power of the clearance rack to put you over the $20! I always stay away from them thinking I'll wind up buying junk nobody else wants, wind up with something I never use, and spend more than I need to get me to $20. I went today and my total was 19.46..darn it..I was going to have to spend at least 1.00 to put me over. Well...I looked thru the clearance rack and found a magnetic memo pad for .50 (I use them for grocery lists and I've been out for awhile...every time I jot my list down on a scrap piece of paper it gets thrown away and I have to start over). So that puts me 4 cents shy..what now? I found these cute hallmark christmas grab bags, 3 to a pack (I usually do homemade cookie gifts at christmas) clearanced down to 10 cents...YAY!!
PS: thank you happy day for pointing out the J&J soap deal (my mom cut this $1 off coupon out of her woman's day and I thought "I'll never use that") and the Clean & Clear warming scrub clearance deal (I still had a $2 printable sitting in my binder from when I did the $5 wyb $15...and it was only 2.80 after mark down here.... .80 oop!)
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS KEEP A LOOKOUT FOR CLEARANCE ITEMS! They are a great way to throw you over those increments needed for 4/20, 3/15 etc. coupons and combining them with mfg coupons they can be free as well! I use the hair color as a great example of this. I have never colored my hair in my life but with the clearance price of $1.75 and having a $2 coupon it works perfect to put me over $20 and not cost me anything OOP. I just add those items to my donation pile when I get home - some people add them to their yardsale stock. And that being said:
