Cvs 7/12-7/19

Thanks...so here is a question ...What is a coupon center? Someone said you scan your card and will most likely get $2/2 Gold Emblem Nuts. Maybe my store doesnt have this yet.

It's a red scanner box that you do price checks on. It's usually found near the magazines or near the cosmetics around here and only some stores have them. If it's a blue box here all you can do with it is check prices on items. If it's red, you can do a price check but also scan your CVS card for coupons. Sometimes they're great and other times they're not so hot.

I finished photo books today and got 2 packages of sunflower seeds with the $2/2 Gold Emblem nuts coupon. The $1 off Spring Water will be great next week as the cases are $2.99 on sale, so $1.99 each after that coupon

Lanajae, how many photo books were you able to get? I have done 3 so far. One on DH's card and 2 on mine. Is the limit 5 per card? They are so cute!

Great shopping trip! The limit on the Gillette razor is 1 per card. It's always a good idea to get a rain check if your store doesn't have the advertised items in stock. They never expire and if it's an ECB deal, you can get the ECB's whenever the items finally get back in stock. :thumbsup2
Another great thing about the rainchecks: I waited until last night to look for the razor and of course they were out, I got a raincheck and now I don't have to worry about not having the coupon in hand. So if they ever have something you really want and you have no coupon on hand wait until later in the week so they'll be more likely to be out of the item. Then you'll have time to acquire the coupon from a friend, ebay or a coupon clipping service.

I went to 2 stores and neither had the scissors.:sad2: I was told I couldnt get a rain check because it was a 3 day sale. Oh well..:sad1:

I wish the stores would be consistent on doing the rainchecks. I did try to get all the school supplies early but they were out. Last night the cashier had just come on duty and asked her manager if they were "still writing rainchecks for the school supplies" The manager said no not any more but we can do a pen substitution (got 3 10 packs vs the 8 packs) and we can do the other weekly items.

I'm not Lanajae, but our add says Limit 1 per card. Haven't tried to do another one on the same card.

I'm really excited. I want to do the photobooks (5 for each card) but really don't have the time. I called around and one of my stores only has one book, so I'm going to go do one, then get a raincheck for the others! yay!

Thanks! I'll have to look around...they are still changing over for longs, so maybe it's coming. I hope so!!:goodvibes

Don't laugh.... I made 10! It is 5 per card and next week it should be 5 Movie Maker DVDs per card even though the ad says limit 1.

Okay fellow CVSer's, my DDs have declared that I am a true cvs addict. We're on vacay, and I have hit 3 CVS's here at the beach.:beach: But also let me add that they stink. Nothing is marked, one had out old expired fliers, many of the employees don't speak english hardly at all.... I can't wait to get back to MY cvs at home :cloud9: where I know the employees and where things are located. But thank goodness for ECBs and GCs. We have needed a few things that we did not bring (i.e. extra high spf face sunscreen, zinc oxide for dd's nose and cheeks [she's looking like Sebastian's twin ], and one or two other things I forgot) I figure burning my ecbs is better than paying OOP since we 'have' to have it right now. I did bring my huge coupon bag though ;) and was able to use some coupons. :rotfl2:

If you have CRTs, the Maalox/Benefiber/Gas-X deal can be a money-maker:

$10.99 26 oz. Maalox Advanced
6.49 12 oz. Maalox Advanced
-6.49 CRT Buy 26 oz. Maalox, get 12 oz. free
-1.50 CRT Maalox/Gas-X check expiration date, may be Saturday
-3.00/2 Maalox mfg. from 6-14-09 Smart Source
6.39 Benefiber 36 ct. orange cream chewables
-3.00 CRT any Benefiber
-2.00 Benefiber mfg. from 5-10-09 Smart Source
$7.88 (earn $10) with $1.50 CRT
-or-
$9.39 (ear $10) without $1.50 CRT

*this deal is only decent if you received the CRT Buy 26 oz. Maalox, get 12 oz. free
Thanks LanaJae, I would have never caught this deal without you posting it. I had the BOGOF CRT and the Benefiber CRT and Manu Q's for $3 and $2. so I got it for the $9.39. I thought the Benefiber chewables might be nice to have on hand when we travel and I can give the Maalox to my mom. She uses it to heal the skin around her stoma (that's what the Dr. recommended :confused3).
Oh and I had the $2.50 off/10. CRT off any pain releiver, combined that with 3 $2 Tylenol arthritis Q's for a cost of $3.46 (used a $3 ecb) and earned $9. That one was a great MM! :cool1: I did that one on two cards.
One of the beach stores does have the scanner. So I've been trying to pop in and get the CRTs esp the one for $2 off of the nuts. They make great beach snax. :thumbsup2
Well gotta go! DH is calling me wanting to know when I am coming out onto the beach! :cool2:

Well, my computer got infected with a virus that was beyond my or DH's capabilities to fix so it is at the repair shop. I am dying :scared1: without a computer. Hopefully only another day or two til it is fixed. It is not making job searching or cvsing very easy this week! I have to go to the library once a day to get online and this stinks!!!! OH, and I can't do the photobooks yet because all my pictures are on the pc. Hopefully it is ready by the weekend so I can at least do a book or two.

Good news is with no computer I am getting a lot done around the house :lmao:

I think I get more excited about CVSing while on vacation than the vacation itself! :rotfl:

Glad you could do some deals, its a great way to save some money while you're there and to get some things you need.

If I had to guess, you would be at Clearwater Beach in FL

Maybe you can do what Robin did, call your CVS' and asked if they have the photobook in stock. Then go to the one that is out of stock and get a raincheck for 5.

I'd be bawling without my computer, sorry that happened! One of my friends got a blaster worm virus thingy and it was a big mess like yours and was gone for several days.

I was able to get a raincheck for one. Even though the register may allow five, they would only give me one on the raincheck since that was the limit printed in the sales flier. Oh well, one is better than none. And it will work out better for me to do it next week. I figure I can do our vacay pics. :thumbsup2

I am using the photobooks to make autograph pages for our trip next week! I'm not sure how it will work out, but I will let you know.

I saved some autograph cards (from the DISigns board here) as .jpg images and then printed them out one per photobook page. I asked the store if I could get the book but not have it bound. I told them I wasn't sure if I would get autographs from each of the characters I printed out and I didn't want to have a "blank" page in the book. So far I have made 2 books at 2 different stores and they didn't have a problem with that. One store gave me the cover and said to come back when I was done and he would bind it. The other store just gave me the pictures (no cover) and wrote on my receipt that I will be back for binding.

I'm not even sure I will have it bound. I might stick it in a scrapbook. I'll have to see how many I get.

I plan to have the characters write in sharpie on the photopages. I did a test run with an old photo and it seemed to work ok. I'm just a little concerned about the few who "stamp" instead of sign.

That's a great idea!

I'll post some pictures when I am done. I figured for free, I might as well try.

I did 3 pretty quick with three kids! Lol, it was a newer one, with kind of a cove, the little kids sat with their candy. I'm sure they could have been better, I didn't do a lot of cropping. I think they turned out nice though :-)

just back from CVS

1 Head & Shoulders Shampoo - $7.39
1 Gillette Fusion - $7.99
2 Gold Emblem Mixed Nuts - 2/$7.00

-$4.00 extra bucks
-$4.00 Gillette Fusion coupon
-$2.00 CVS coupon for Gold Emblem nuts

Total $13.86 (i think)
got $7.00 more in extra bucks!

Still no computer :scared1: I am getting the shakes, LOL.

Just did a quick trip to do the Benefiber/Maalox deals on both cards. Thanks again Lana Jae for the q's. The deals worked out great for me with the q's and CRTs....both small moneymakers. And my mom has enough benefiber to last her the rest of the year :thumbsup2

Good deal at Rite Aid if you have Bounty coupons. Bounty basic single rolls are B1G1 and sell for $1.29. My coupon was $1/2 bounty so I got two rolls for .29.....I had 5 coupons, so not a bad deal for 10 rolls of paper towels!
