We'll be staying at POR in May (our first family trip to Disney!) but would like to start our vacation at Chef Mickey's for breakfast. A question:
Can ME get us to POR in time to obtain our room keys coded with our dining plan, and then can we get to the Contemporary in time to catch an 11:30 breakfast reservation? (Our ETA at Orlando airport is 8:50 AM).:cheer2:

If you land at 8:50 I would expect you could make it to the POR resort in 90 minutes at the most. (Best case is probably 60 minutes). From there they should be able to complete the checkin process within 5-15 minutes.

How do you plan to get to the Contemporary. I've never stayed at POR so I don't know what Disney transportation is available. However, if you just took a taxi I assume it would take no more than 10-15 minutes to get there.

If all goes on schedule you should be able to make it with time to spare.

It normally takes about 70 mins (average) from gate to resort with DME. Then figure on another 30 mins to get checked in and get tickets and such. If your plane is late or if there are delays with DME, you aren't going to make it. It will be close as it is...if everything lines up perfectly.

It should work, but save yourself the stress and book dinner. I know from experience ;)

I would suggest doing the online check in. By doing so you skip the main check in line and usually can walk right up to the desk for those who have done online check in. I have done this 3 times and never had to wait in line to check in. There has not been anyone in line so I just walk right up to the counter.

Everything will be printed and all you have to do is sign and walk away.

Don't forget, you can always take the bus form POR to MK then walk (or monorail, it should be wide open) to the Contemporary. It is only a five minute walk to CR from MK, but the bus wait could put you out!

To the OP assuming your flight is not delayed and etc after you check-in you could always take a taxi to the Contemporary, because that will be a lot faster then taking the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then using the walkway to the Contemporary.
