'cutting' in line

Those with kindness and patience have had their faces continually stepped on by people who have a bizarre idea of "entitlement". (I'm not insinuating you have that idea). There are many, many people who believe they are better, above having to wait, or who and I quote "I paid over $1000 for our tickets....WE are NOT waiting for 60 minutes for Space Mountain!" and proceed to push past the CM.

I believe our forefathers were talking about something a little bigger than WDW.... but to use the above in context of WDW...

The "Govements that are instituted among men" I would assume that the "Government of WDW" would be The Management and I believe they set down the rule... "No line cutting"... and I don't think that they created the ammendments to include "Unless your child has to use the bathroom" or "Unless you need a cold Drink" or "You don't feel like waiting..so catch up to your party later."


Let's just say you are waiting on line for ....Test Track. The stand-by line is 40 minutes.... you get on line. Somewhere up in front someone lets 4 member of his/her group in. Then 3 of 4 parties behind that...someone else lets in 3 of their group, a few more back, someone brings in 2, a couple of more back - 3 more members join the line. about 20 people in front of you someone lets in MIL, DD, DW who was waiting in the shade....then about 10 parties in front of you, you get someone who lets in the rest of their party... all 8 of them.... there are now 23 people who have cut in front of you.... While everyone agrees that one or two is nothing to make a fuss over, when 8 or 9 parties in front of you do it.... the number gets very large....very quickly.

Maybe WDW should institute what they have at the Deli Counter... you take a number and they call the number...."Now serving 124"... You know in the grocery store, you take your number, run and grab a few things before your number is called...and if you miss your call...oh well, you gotta take another number. If WDW did that, then EVERYONE could get out of line, grab a drink, go to the bathroom, wait in the shade and when the CM calls your number, you get to go and if you're not there... then you pick another number. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_29_132.gif' border=0></a>
 
hasn't changed my mind, like i did with my kids & i'll continue to do with my grandbaby & as schmeck so elegantly put it,plunk her on the pot pre line entry and know she's good for the duration!...and while i am aware of hidden disabilites ( having one myself) the only "disability" i have seen in the line jumpers I have seen is appaling rudeness which is not hidden, so guess from now on i'll mention their activities to the nearest cm. .

graygables, sorry about your kids but glad they can still enjoy the parks...why not have a gac anyway and if it is a ride you can't use it on, it is a valid thing to show people that you really do "need" to get past. I doubt anyone would care about that. even me, the ogre who thinks if they first follow the step above toddlers have large enough bladders to wait in a line wouldn't care about that :) i'm guessing it is an actual tangible object( my own particular problem has to be in the wanning stage or no way I could go to WDW so never used it). or if you can,go to disney in the winter ( like me) when waiting in line isn't an issue so you don't have to worry about it.
 
We are all entitled to our own opinions, but I refuse to think of 1 person who cued up with their fam who left the cue after a few mins, realizing that this was a perfect oppritunity to grab a Coke or use the restroom is line cutting. If you were IN the line to begin with, then there's no reason why you cant get your spot back. I DO like the idea of taking #'s though. Sounds like a winner to me ::yes::

Well, I was the one who started the thread (Not realizing everything it was going to bring up! :rolleyes: :p )

I think our strategy for our first time at WDW will be to both go get fast passes and line up together. Go to the bathroom before a long line, but if I really need to go while waiting in a long line, get out to go, and come back to the line. I'd rather do that than have an 'accident' by being so scared on RNR! *L* I know some people won't agree, that I should get my spot back, but it seems that it's accepted enough that if I really need to 'go', I will. It won't bother me if a few people cut in line in front of me, but if I see a large group doing it, I will tell a CM.

I do feel for you when it comes to your children having dissabilities that can not be seen what the problem is is that enough people abuse the thought of getting out to go to the bathroom when in line 1 poster even said they would take their 7yr old out on a 1 hour line instead of making sure he did not have to go before getting in line this looks like they were in too much of a hurry to get in line.
The phrase 1 bad apple can spoil the lot comes to mind when reading and posting on this tread.
 
The cool thing about taking a # instead of getting an FP, is that when they call you, you get to go NOW!!!!!::yes::

With FP, the line is much smaller, but still there (ofcourse this is judging by last trip 5 years(or so) ago)
