Cutting in Line

Like many other here, 1 or 2 people wouldn't bother me, a group of 15 on the hand would!

What about fifteen parties, each with one or two FastPass runners catching up? Somewhere like Little Mermaid, it could force you to wait through the show you expected to enter and see the next one, instead. At Soarin's, it can easily delay your ride an extra cycle. At Dumbo, you likely have to wait two more cycles before you get your elephant. Even Splash Mountain, fifteen extra people between you and the front of the line forces you to wait longer to board a log.

Everyone has a story, and we don't know the one belonging to the stangers around us. People need to worry about their own behavior, and be good role models for all the kids at WDW. If you feel uncomfortable catching up with your party in line, don't do it. I couldn't care less. It doesn't increase my wait time, and I don't know their situation. :)

But it does I don't understand how this isn't understood. Every person in front of you adds to the time you wait until you get on. Time in line depends on the amount of people in front of you so adding a person does add time, on some rides more than others! On some rides it could mean another whole cycle. And I don't know about you but my time is worth as much to me as your time is to you!

I am just curious how the number of people involved determines if it is cutting or not?

If it is one person it isn't cutting but if it is 10 people it is?

cutting is cutting.

I agree 100% I don't understand this logic.

I also don't understand the poster who said they let people in front BUT NOT the group of Teens? what does age have to do about it? So if it was a group of middle aged women it would be OK?

Cutting is cutting, it is non discriminatory- doesn't matter about age, race, gender, or ability!

But what would you do if a little kid crawled between your legs and was crying :"I lost my mommy"?
Your hart would melt right? Yeah and after a few minutes a family about seven persons were making a big fuss couse there little one was "lost" and came pushing along.
After seeing this trick twice I realist how clever this tricks was used.

Yes, I'd happily reunite the child with their "lost" family. But if it became clear to me that they'd used this as a line jumping reason, I'd tell them, with a smile, "I'm so happy you found each other, you should have no problems finding your previous place in line!" Sounds mean but if I smile and say it nicely, what can they say back?

Probably more... because does everybody know how much Hannathy PAID for this vacation???? :rotfl2: :lmao: Just kidding!

doesn't bug me - i don't let small things like that spoil my vacation - now if it were the reverse and one person in line and 6 8 10 people tried to cut in front then i think i'd say something.

as long as the person says excuse me pardon me or asks politely to join his her family that's fine. pushy people will get told off and if they had a problem they are more then welcome to call a cm to discuess it.

but since we usually go off season we don't run into this - lets see what happens in July when we go

That's a good point. Maybe we should say sure if your time is so valuable if you pay for me to stay another day I'll let you cut in front of me all you would like, then it wouldn't matter if it took me twice as long to ride. I would have the whole next day!

(because your right they always say that don't they? like it didn't cost you anything to be at Disney!)

Well, come on - it didn't cost most of us as much to be at Walt Disney World because we have access to the excellent advice and information on this forum! :teeth:

:rotfl2:I won't even tell you what we paid for our week at BCV then ~ because you would get to cut me in every line!

I think there is a big difference between someone leaving the line for a potty break, and someone pushing in front of you who was never there to begin with.

I will gladly allow anyone to pass me for an emergency potty break. And I won't even throw a fit if you cut in front of me to meet your group. But I will think you are rude, and may start muttering to myself.:rolleyes1

That is exactly right!:thumbsup2 And this is beside the point, but I have encountered many more rude adults then teens on my numerous trips to Disney!

The first time we rode TSM at DHS we got about half way through the 60 minute line and my youngest had to use the restroom. We had to weave our way through a huge crowd to get out and the same huge crowd to get back. I sure felt guilty but I appreciated the fact that not one single person complained to us about it. Talk about that great Disney spirit.

After that experience I will never complain about someone joining their party in line. You just don't know what the circumstances are and to me it is better to err on the side of kindness.

In the big scheme, one or two people abusing that kindness is not a big deal.

... After we had been in line for about 5 minutes, we noticed 3 or 4 teenagers and adults climbing over the chains to join a group just in front of us. It took me awhile to realize what they were doing. My DS16 said, "Really? Really? You're just going to cut in line?" to which the mom in the group said, "Chill out, sweetie, everybody does it."... Now I really wish my son hadn't said anything, but I completely disagree with the woman's actions and logic.

I think it's great your son had the courage to speak up! Most people wouldn't, no matter how upset it got them. Too bad it didn't shame the woman knowing that a teen knew better manners than her.

Reading this my jaw practically hit the floor! Seriously? People do this? You've seen this twice?? I'm stunned.

my goodness - reading through this thread it sounds like a bunch of kindergarten kids...
line cutting? seriously? sure, it's not cool (and yes I am a FP runner for our huge family), but it's not stepping on your kid's foot or poking you in the eye with an itzakadoozie stick, or licking you on the back of the neck...
I know, I know - if everybody did it then it would be crazy...and how many is too many...I get it. But at the end of the day, you're at DISNEY WORLD! Have a good time and relax a bit - it will make for a much better trip. I just make a point to be as tolerant as possible and I ask my wife and kids to do the same - otherwise it's just thousands of sweaty, stinky strangers trudging around a big carnival - and that's no fun. I prefer to make Disney even better by being just a bit nicer than normal - you never know when you might turn someone's hot, cranky day into a magical Disney day.

sorry for the Mr. Rogers rant, just had to throw in my $0.02. hehe

Sorry Mr. Rogers would know just like any kindergartener that cutting is cutting and you don't do it!!!

Mr. Rogers was follow the rules absolutely and every one play fair, never ever any cheating and every one is equal and no one gets special treatment because everyone is special!
