I thought of an idea about something fun to do while at Disney World(not that anything is not fun, lol!). I am 13 years old, but I still LOVE getting autographs from the characters...sure you may think that it's stupid lol, but I think it's really just part of the fun at Disney...anyways, back to my point. I thought that instead of getting the autographs in the book, that maybe if I bought a plain white tank top or a plain white cami, then I could write Disney World Trip 2004 kinda at the top/middle with a permenant marker and then having the characters sign in! Of course the shirt would not be on me, lol I would bring it in my bag...so, what do you think about my idea? Please tell me if it's stupid!

I've heard of them signing shirts and hats as well as books, just as long as you have a pen that will write on them. I think it's a great idea! Go for it!

If you don't have the shirt on they will sign it. But if you have it on, they will not. They have a rule that they will not sign peoples clothes that they are wearing. Its for your protection and theirs.

okay, thanks a bunch!

Be sure that the pen you use won't wash out. I have had permanet markers become not so permanet when washed. Maybe do a test shirt before you go. Have a great time collecting autographs!

that's a cute idea!

I saw someone have the characters sign her white disney 'Gilligan' hat. Very cute idea!

okay, I'll keep that in mind! I'll ask mom to buy a shirt right now...thanks!

We did it!

If you use a permant marker (the fabic pens stunk for both the staying power and were hard for the big hands to use, even with fat pens!) Anyway, if you use a permant marker put the shirt in a dryer BEFORE you wash it. That will set the ink. Then it should be fine! We did this about two\three years ago and they are still being worn and in good shape. We got shirts while we were there because the time we did this is was the 100 year celebration so it was interesting . . .

Also, if you get a while shirt here and one of the mega packs of Sharpie you can see what colors show up and what doesn't. Just so you know!

Have a great time and here's hoping for a really cool shirt!!! :earsgirl:

thanks for the tip!

You also will want to have some sort of hard surface for them to sign the shirt on. For alot of the signatures trying to just sign them on a loose shirt is a bit of an issue

Anytime, just a little FYI we were in a moderatly long line and of the cast members stole our shirts and then returned them with about 15 more autographs just because they didn't want us holding up the line with all our shirts. (The whole family did it!) So, you might want to tell the cast members standing by the lines that you are going to get a shirt signed so they know in case they want to do something different.

okay, thanks I will do that!

We also have done this in the past. It is alot of fun! We used an embrodiery hoop to make it tight. Then just move the tshirt around for the characters. We also bought a tshirt at DD that had the year on it. It is a great souvenier!

Just another thought... I think it would be really pretty if after you got the autographs, use embroidery thread and embroider on top of the autographs, so they'll be in different colors, and pretty instead of just black marker line.

My mom did this when I graduated from high school, I was at an all girls catholic school and the tradition was that everyone in your class signed your plaid skirt (our tartan pattern was unique to my school). She embroidered all the signatures in gold thread... it was so cool.

I am gettting the charaters to sign a disney t shirt this xmas...then I am going to frame it and hang it in the dinning room...also going to do the same with the pressed pennies..

Dont feel silly getting autographs at 13! I'm 27 and still do it!

On one of our last trips I saw a young girl (my memory is a bit fuzzy, maybe there were two sisters?) who had all the characters sign on a white jean jacket. It looked really cool, and I bet it lasts longer than a tshirt. Also, I would guess it was easier for characters to sign on stiff denim without the hoop or anything, (or on hats) than on plain flimsy tshirts.
