We bought a set of new knives from a fellow we have known for several years who is putting himself through college. I was looking at these with him at home and, due to price, wanted DH to "help" me decide. Well, I was looking at buying 2-3 knives that would have totaled less than $200. DH gets home and those two had a ball. $650. later, we have a set of knives. A small set, I might add. The are really, really nice. They are really really sharp. I have cut myself 3 times, DH 3 times and each son at least twice each.
Tonight I was slicing onion for dinner and just neatly sliced off the skin on the end of my thumb. Now, this knife was one of the steak knives, not a chopping knife and it still went through like butter. I didn't even feel it. I do now!
So, the moral of the story is, yes they are very nice quality knives and even worth the money but you might consider some of those mesh safety gloves too.
