Customised birthday cake

has anyone had any experience of organising a customised cake? My ds is 7 during our holiday so thought it would be an extra special sparkle for him. Is there a wide variety? How easy is it to organise?

You can arrange it through disney directly, or if you've got a car I think places like Walmart and publix can do cakes which will work out cheaper but you would need to go order and collect them. I think disney can arrange for you to have the cake at a meal etc if you have a look on Disney floral and gifts it gives you an idea of the various packages etc they offer

Thanks, I'm trying to get yet another plan together for him. They always have a birthday cake so would be very odd not to have one.

If you go on the restaurant forum there's a thread with lots of pictures of various cakes, telephone numbers for ordering cakes and plenty of advice. I've ordered several cakes and I've always found it very easy to do and the CMs are always very helpful!

I have ordered a few things over the years. dD had the slipper dessert one year at CRT, a White chocolate Pluto another and last year I ordered a mini cake for my inlaws 40th wedding anniversary at CG.

The mini cake was nice and there was just enough for 4 of us to have a taste as we were on the DDP we had dessert anyway so didn't want or need a lot of cake. It cost $25!

Publix also make really good cakes. You can order them in store to be customised otherwise they always have a selection you just go in and pick up.
