its definitely too much food! We are here on a split stay 4 nts pop deluxe dining nts Kidani on rented points and regular dining plan. I thought it would be nice to do the deluxe for 4 nts and do a lot of character meals, etc. Plus it included the mugs. We check out of POP on Thursday (and switch over to the regular dining plan at Kidani) and we still have 5 more meals each before then, and like 21 snack credits between the 3 of us. Doing more than 1 TS a day is too much for my 3 year old we ended up skipping our LTT ressie tonite and just coming back to POP and eating at the food court because he was tired and just wanted to go in the hotel pool. Some of the meals we are hardly eating much of anything and we have skipped dessert twice because its too much, including appetizers and all!

Im not upset at all and we got an awesome deal on this trip to begin with and it cost us very little anyhow. We will use whatever snack credits are left over to take snacks with us, esp. Mickey rice krispy treats! Its just an observation that its way too much food and definitely never again! The regular dining plan is too much for us!

I agree with you. On the regular dining plan, we normally are trying to squeeze in our QS meals toward the end to get them all and we are always stacking up on snacks because we hardly every get to use those. I know the Deluxe would be way too much.

It seems to me like you're just there to eat and catch attractions in between the meals.

I agree with you to a point. We always go on the deluxe plan, but feel that there should be another plan in between the basic and deluxe plan.

We like the deluxe cause we like appetizers with our meals, and we sometimes like doing the signature dining.

But we cant eat 3 table services a day. We always eat 2 table services and if we have any credits left we order room service the night before we leave.

however we'd never go on the basic plan either cause it's not enough food, especially having to sacrifice the apps isnt ideal for us

Use some of your snacks to buy items for your fridge at kidani. Milk and juice to stock up for the 3 year old maybe some water too.

Room service is also a big perk but that won't work at Pop. Since you will have so many meals left, on your check out day you could use them for dinner at kidani for room service though. It's a nice treat with better food than CS and if you have a savanna view room you can eat and watch the animals. (That would give you 2 meals tomorrow, 1 meal Thursday, and room service.) Then you could use up some of your snacks for lunch or breakfast on those days too!

Dxdp is fun... but I agree with the amount of food... and I think it takes some practice to figure out how to make it work for each family. ;)

i think the deluxe needs some changes. We are a family of 4 with a 14 year old and a 8 year old so we get 3 adults and one child so that means at table service meals we get 3 appetizers the meals and desserts. Who the heck goes out to a resturant and orders 3 appatizers plus meals and dessert? They should change it to one appetizer and lower the price.

I agree we did not EACH need an appetizer!

We are traveling to Disney the first week in October. We are a party of 4 but only 2 of us will be on the ding plan. The other 2 will be arring just at the end of the week (3 days to be exact). They are not on ding plan. Are they still able to have dinner with us and they can just pay there own check,or is this not allowed. We are a family! Thanks!!

I agree, this is a good idea. It's just my BF and I but even so, we don't usually order two apps or even two desserts. We prefer DxDP though because we like to do sit down breakfasts and signature dinners. I wouldn't try DxDP with a small child, because like OP said, you'll probably end up doing some QS which isn't worth it on DxDP and what kid wants to sit in restaurants when they are at Disney World!

You know that if they start making changes it won't come with a lower price, right? If the plan doesn't work for you, don't buy it, but please let's not start the chorus of "Its too much food" that we always used to hear about the basic dining plan before they gutted its value by stripping the appetizer and tip while continuing to increase the price.

Of course just get separate checks. Last trip at some meals we had to get 3 different checks for 4 people (2 separate rooms on DP 1 with one person and the other with 2, and one person not on the plan visiting us for a day. You just cant use the credits for anyone not on the plan.

One appetizer for whom? If you ate at different restaurants or at different times, how would the restaurants/servers determine who got that lone appetizer? And how would Disney know who would get to pay the lower price? Please explain. :confused3

I think a "Dining for two" option would be nice. Something like this:

- 3 credits per day per person, unrestricted
- Breakfast stays the same
- Lunch/Dinner gets you a shared appetizer, 2 entrees, shared dessert + 2 non-alc drinks (or buffet, as it is currently) for 2 meal credits (4 at Signatures)
- 1-2 snacks per day per person and the mugs

Price it right between the standard and deluxe plans and I think that's a winner.
