Currently at the grand opening of wwohp

Wow. If they're closed because they reached capacity won't those people just have to stand there until some leave? In the heat?

I'd hate to be working at IOA today.

So when are they going to call capacity? It will have to be soon. Even if it was single file, you simply cannot have 7 hour wait times consistently. 7 can turn to 8 pretty quickly, and then you're running against closing time. That means that you paid all of your attendance money just for HP. And perhpas, just one ride.

I would expect to see them call capacity real soon.

Now's the time to ride all of the other rides because everyone is in the HP line.;) Ride them over and over without a wait, I bet. Now that's what I'd do.

No way, I'd wait in line that long--I'd have to pee too bad and then if I did get on FJ then the ride would have to be shut down because the seats would be wet:lmao:

Perhaps they should have built a port-a-potty into the seats! :lmao:

They aren't at capacity yet (at least when I left). They closed the front gates because the line to get back to wwohp was running into the front gate of the park, despite snaking through the seldom used back paths of IOA. And just pulsed a group of people in at a time to control the crowds. There is no question it's going to fill up, probably already.

We walked by the studios on the way out, thought about hitting the rocket, but tons of people were in the studios already and rocket had a 70 minute wait at the time, and there was a very big line of people getting into usf as well (Around 10:15AM).

That's the line just for hogsmeade and the area too, Forbidden Journey will fill up fairly quickly once more folks get into the area, so a good amount of people will probably make it into hogsmeade.

From WaltD4Me:

Someone just Tweeted they are stuck in line on the bridge by Jurassic Park and security is walking by telling people WWofHP is closed to capacity right now.

At least they're close if they're at Jurassic Park. Relatively speaking that is.

I'm surprised that WWofHP didn't close earlier since it's small.

Here's a photo of the line from Dr. Doom. Yes it goes all the way around from the front of the park and beyond.

Oh my goodness ~ sounds crazy! I hope the crowds die down a little by Monday. Anxious to hear more reports from those who brave the crowds today.

I can expect that all of US/IOA is packed. People probably took one look at the HP line and decided that the rocket and the Simpsons looked pretty good. I know I would.

To me, I don't stand in lines that posts waits over 60 minutes, period. The longest I've ever stood in line was 70 minutes at Kali River Rapids that I thought was crazy. I was outraged! :lmao

Did those of you who are onsite guests get in an hour before others this morning? I am curious if the onsite guests will get early entry these next few weeks with the crowds out of control like this. Will onsite guests just go around the line to enter?:confused3

Watching on the Today Show........steal a media badge! They have tons of space around where they are all filming right in the middle of the village!:lmao:

The Studios are still doable but they are getting some extra crowds too aren't they? What will tomorrow be like?

Wow! That is amazing. I can't believe that Universal did not anticipate this kind of crowd. I hope everybody there has a great time and I look forward to hearing more reports.

Looking at these crowds, I'm oddly reminded of my mother explaining to me why she didn't go to Woodstock, despite being only a few minutes away...

She was already rethinking her plans when she saw that it was predicted to rain that weekend, then she saw footage on TV of all the people arriving in town and said, "Yuck, look at the crowds!" So she and her friends hung out in a cabin, drank beer, and made fun of all the silly people out there in the rain and the mud.
