Currently at the grand opening of wwohp

Unfortunately, storms are moving into the area. Before long, those poor people are going to get very wet!

Some pics we took from this morning:

Hulk inside the park, the line for wwohp went further back than this.

closedgate_wwohp_go.jpg

Closed the front gate around 8:45 to start pulsing crowds.

There's absolutely NO WAY that I would have gotten out the car with crowds like that!:scared1:

I will be watching to see how the crowds will be in the beginning of Sept. If it's anywhere even CLOSE to that, I'm going to Disney! That just looks painful!

Is there an express lane to get into the park? :lmao:

I'm planning to go in July... wonder what time early entry will be for on site guests? 4 am? :confused3

This is insane. I don't get why so many people would want to pay to go thru this madness. I never get the hype with 'grand opening' of things. Are they running some contest that I"m not aware of? ha. Everyone in today gets entered in a drawing for $1,000,000.00 and a trip to the UK to visit HP movie locations? It's the same thing with seeing a movie at midnight opening night. I don't mind seeing the same movie a few weeks later in a half empty theater. I was there just last sat for the Train concert and WWOHP was dead. Walked into everything and short waits.. for those that have been before, I know we're all thinking the same thing..The shops are so small, the viewing area for the Frog Choir and everything is so small. I feel bad for everyone involved..from those going to employees dealing with this.

They should have extra hours at the end of the day, why won't they do that?

Because Universal is in the middle of a subdivision, there are city ordinances that they need to follow.

How does it work if your staying on site and are allowed in an hour early... is there a seperate line for those people ?

I'm the same way. My son wants to see Toy Story 3 this weekend but I'm waiting for a few weeks before making the attempt. I told him maybe he can sucker his brothers into taking him. They've gone to several midnight showings of popular movies including the last Star Wars. I don't see the magic of a full house of people and probably ending up in the very front row.

I love the HP movies... have all 6 of them in my collection, but will not be waiting hours to see the attraction.

Geez this is insane.
Hopefully the crowds won't be as bad when my sisters and I go in August!

Only people with a room key/package ID are allowed past a certain point to line up at the turnstiles.

That's why I don't plan on riding anything at WWHOP until it's old news. When I ride FJ, it'll probably have a 30 minute wait time by the time I step into the line. Even if it takes years and years, I'll just wait until the hype dies down before I ride it.

But if you're a huge HP fan and you want to get in there for history's sake, go for it. But the only place I will stand in a line like that is Heaven. :goodvibes

What time will onsite guests with a room key need to arrive over the next few weeks to ensure the extra hour?:confused3
