Is food only served during meal times? My kids have celiac diasease and I prefer them not being around when food is served.
The meals are served during meal times. We do some programs that use foods containing gluten such as pasta and cookie dough. If you do want your kids to eat with us, you can order a gf meal and we will pick it up. It's hard being coeliac on a cruise!! I am tooIs food only served during meal times? Hi! If you don't want her to eat with us, make sure you let us know and we will put a note in the system. Usually during dinner time there is limited activities so that the kids who need to eat will eat but there is a movie playing.I was just looking at past navigators and 2 questions came to mind:
1. We are second seating for dinner. I saw that dinner is served in the club and lab at 530. If my daughter is there but I don't want her to eat or if she doesn't want to eat, is there an activity or area she can go to to play?
2. My daughter is used to a nap and going to bed around 830pm our time (central). I am sure this is going to be majorly thrown off. Is there somewhere in the club that she can go to take a nap? I don't mean like cots or a nap area but maybe pillows or bean bags in front of the TV. What happens if she falls asleep? Will you call us to come get her or just let her sleep? I am thinking especially after a long day.
That sounds perfect. Thanks!Yes if your daughter feels tired she can sit down in front of the tv and have a sleep. We do have nap mats that we put the kids on. We will let them sleep if that's what you prefer, otherwise we will just sent you a message to let you know she is sleeping.
Hi! Dinner is around 6 pm and is different every night. Could be pasta, Mac and cheese, pizza, chicken tenders, corn dogs etc. Usually with some veggies or salad and either water or juice. In the other thread you talked about lunch, but what about dinner - what is served, is it only during the listed times, etc. thanks!

Yes it's usually about an hour, but could be less or more depending on numbers of children. Is there anything I can help you with? Thanks!! I should have asked this above as well -- if dinner is scheduled for a full hour, say 6-7, would a kid who got dropped off at 630 or even 645 still get fed? Or one who needed to be picked up at 620? I'm trying to work through a scheduling conundrum.
You need to come back to check on them periodically and be available via wave phone if they have an accident. One question. DD will be 3 in July and we sail in August. She will be old enough for the Kid's Club, but she still isn't potty trained. ( We are working on it.) Will she be allowed into the Club? What are the rules for non trained kids that are 3.

That is what I thought, but I was reading the DCL site and found this....
. Please note that children must be fully toilet trained to be admitted to either facility.
I am hoping that she will be potty trained by then, but just in case I need to know.
KT2038 has posted that a 3 year old can go to the nursery (see post #19).That used to be true, however DCL tweaked their rules regarding age requirements for young ones within the past year. Any child age 3-12 is now welcome at the Club/Lab, regardless of potty-training status. As mentioned, parents will be expected to return periodically (I've read reports of both 30 minutes and 60 minutes) to check. Any child who has not yet reached their 3rd birthday is only allowed to be dropped off at the Nursery until he/she turns 3 (even if the birthday occurs while on the cruise).
A related note...swim diapers are not allowed in the pools. Kids who aren't potty trained can use the designated water play areas.
Enjoy your cruise!

Hi! We do prefer children to be fully toilet trained. If a 3 year old is not, they may come to Oceaneers BUT they cannot be wearing pull ups or Nappies. They must be wearing undies and the grown ups must agree to come back and check on them every 30 minutes. The other option is the nursery where they can wear pull ups and nappiesOne question. They're child sizedAre the toilets accessible from the kids area adult sized or child sized (or a mixture). My three year old is good with using the bathroom on his own, but he sometimes has difficult with getting on/off adult sized toilets in public places.

Hi! As a coeliac myself I know how difficult eating can be!! I would suggest bringing his normal snacks as long as they are packaged. HeWe are on the July 10th Fantasy with a 7 year old with Celiacs. He is super picky to top it all off. We also have late seating, on the wait list for main. Do you suggest us bringing his usual snacks with us onboard? Can he take them into the club?
What kind of "kid" food is available , I'm talking the kid survives on pizza, chicken nuggets, fries, gluten free burritos, cookies...he's a gymnast and I have no idea how he survives!
Any other tips you can give would be greatly appreciated, this is one area of the cruise that I'm very worried about.
Thanks you so much for being available!

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that there are gluten free chicken tenders and pizza available onboard as well as fries that are cooked in a dedicated fryer. There are also Enjoy Life cookies (my DH was served the Snickerdoodle ones, I don't know if they have others). We are on the July 10th Fantasy with a 7 year old with Celiacs.
