Current work at the Fort

Ed,

Well I much prefer that sunny optimism over my gloom and doom theory. I forgot about the cabins now part of DVC. That all makes sense now. We haven’t been since they replaced the cabins and renamed areas as DVC.

We were at loop 1500 from Feb. 9th to the 19th, and I’m glad I’m a very early riser as construction seemed to be starting about 5:30 to sometime before 6-ish.

Also, it should be noted if it hasn’t been already that the Meadows isn’t accessible across the street from 1500. One has to walk through 1400 to get there; my spousal unit is a good walker, but it took him about 15 minutes one way. He was carrying our ice chest as the ice maker in 1500 wasn’t working. He wasn’t happy. I wanted to rent a cart..he just looked at me lol. We worked out a system..we hopped in the car, he dropped me off at the Meadows Trading Post, I got the ice and distilled water for his bi-pap while he drove around a couple of loops, he picked me up and Bob’s yer uncle.

Ya know, @BarbLynnM , that picture of the pool construction just above your post shows just a WEE bit of Meadow behind the buildings in the triangle of land with the canal. One could still toss a football back there and enjoy the (now tiny) meadow. If I were to throw a frisbee, however, chances are 7-out-of-10 that it would end up in the water.

But I hope the weather was good for you and I'm hoping to book a late-Jan or early-Feb Tent site for 2027. If I can get approval from the boss (DW).

Bama Ed
