Current Resale Prices?

My mom is having some financial difficulties and is considering selling her points. She is still paying payments on her points so we will need to call DVC and figure out what she owes but we would like to get an idea what the costs involved (commission, closing costs and what ever other costs are involved) would be to sell her points. I also need to get an idea of what points are being bought for right now. I can look and see what they are selling for, but is that the price that people are actually buying them for?

I know there are a lot of people here that are knowledgeable about resale. I bought all my contracts through DVC and so did my mom so I have no clue what is involved.

Unfortuantly, I can't post the resort or number of points because the last post was deleted claiming I was trying to sell the points on this board. I am only trying to get information to see if it is even worth it to do this before I call the The Timeshare store. Thanks for any help you can be!

terry some of that depends upon the number of points you are selling. i would send the sponsor of this site an email and ask what they would charge you.

You might want to look at the ROFR thread on the DVC Planning Board. It has a listing of what has passed ROFR for the past several months- including the selling price for all resorts.

Questions about selling DVC are fine on this board as long as they do not include any information about Resort, Use Year or number of points. For Sale posts are expressly prohibited on the DIS and posting any of that information constitutes a For Sale post and will NOT be allowed. Sorry that wasn't made clearer to you in the PM you were sent when your prior post was removed.
