Does anyone know what the current rate is or if they are running any promotions??

I received a flyer for a free disney vacation for shareholders who join (thru the end of march..I believe). DH and I have looked into this a couple of times..he keeps changing his mind on me.

Did you mean interest rate if financed through Disney or price per point to buy? SSR is 98$ a point and if there are available points at the other villas, they are 92$ a point.

Can you tell us more details about your shareholders vacation? My broker gets all the mail.

Thanks...I was looking for the per point rate.

I received my annual statement in the mail the other day and with it was a flyer to join DVC (for shareholders) and you will receive a free Disney Vacation. No more info than that. I have to find the flyer and see if there is a # or something on there to call. But I would rather a lower (promotional) rate, than a free vacation..it didn't mention particular resorts or anything just a free vacation w/purchase.

I didn't pay much attention to the insert about DVC that came with my annual report. This post made me go take a look. There aren't many details. The offer says "from now until March 31, 2006 Disney shareholders are eligible to receive a complimentary Disney vacation when purchasing a real estate interest in Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort".

Very interesting -- just a small window of opportunity. I wonder if "vacation" means accomodations or passes as well?

Anyone looked into it? Have guides asked people purchasing recently if they also own Disney stock?

They will comp a vacation if you add on points. BUT you don't get the 8 per point discount, you would have to pay the full 98. Its one or the other. And it is just accomodations.

I spoke with someone from DVC a few days ago. I'm not a stockholder, but I can tell you what the deal is right now for me--

SSR - $8 a point off 150 points or more. So $90 per point. September use year. You get points for Sept 05 and then points again for Sept 06. Maintenance fees are prorated from the date that you buy, so you don't pay fees for 05 even though you are getting points for then.

Price IS going up from $98 to $101 pp on March 1st. But if you put a $500 down payment in by 2/28, they will hold the $98 - $8 = $90 rate for you.

Of course, don't hold me to any of that information. Sometimes my memory isn't so good. ;)

I also spoke to DVC last week and they told me basically the same thing. I was calling about the stockholder incentive. It is EITHER $8 off a point OR 100 "developer points" for a free vacation. So it doesn't seem to me that being a stockholder really has any advantage right now. Now we are yo-yoing about buying resale or direct.....

This is interesting because my guide told me that the 90 a point etc. was good until March 31. I had to put a deposit down by that date to get the Sept. UY and 05 points.

Is the 90 Per Point being offered to everyone right now...or is it something I missed for shareholders?? I am a former disneystore employee and have most of my stocks thru that. I do not receive anything from the stock other than the statement at the end of the year showing my dividend reinvested in more stock and the annual report...not sure if anything else should be received or not. My DS has 1 share that he received as a gift (with the oneshare cert). He has 1 share and has the cert and I have like 75-100 (I can't remember how many...) and I don't have a cert...go figure.

With your son's oneshare stock, he should receive an annual report. The offer will be in there.

The 90 per point I do believe is avail to everyone right now but the price will go up at the end of March.

The shareholder offer which was mentioned 2x already above is a comp vacation (the 100 points to use one time toward a "free" vacation).

My mistake, the info I got in the mail (hardcover purple book) does have flier that says the price is going up MARCH 31st. On the back it says "The price of purchasing a real estate issue in Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort will increase from $98 to $101 per Vacation Point on March 31, 2006."

I dunno? :confused3 I could swear he said March 1st. I'm supposed to get getting paperwork soon, so I'll check and let you know.
