Current Offer - I Am Confused

I have searched this thread for a specific description of the current offer for an add-on at DVC and I am confused . I suppose I could call my guide but I don't want to get his hopes up!!!!

Can anyone explain what the current offer is for an add-on and the resulting "bottom line" price per point.

I'm not positive but last year it was minimun of 120 at the discounted price This year the discounted price is 15 off SSR , so 86 per point. (thats what the price is for friends and family discount for referral for new owners with a referral from a DVC member)

We just added on! It is a minimum of 115 points for the $86. 50-115 points is $91 ($10 off).

The referral is for "newbies" joining the DVC family.

We Love Tinkerbelle is already a DVC member and "adding on" to his/her existing DVC contract and looking to find the "members perk" discount

I am already a DVC member, too . I just added on 50 points at SSR for $91 a point.

But the discount is only with a referral, correct? If you don't have a referral - no discount?

I spoke to DVC guide and he said there is no benifit for members refering. Non member only benifits.

I have searched the DVC member website and cannot find info on any current offers for new members or add-ons can someone point me into the right direction please, you would think this info would be on the website?

We talked to our guide yesterday and I wanted to know if we could do this in December when we are at WDW. He said he would check with his manager and get back with me today. He called today and said that they are offering this thru the end of October but couldn't say for sure that it would be beyond that point. He said that October marks the 15th anniversary thus the $15 off incentive. I thought that, usually, incentives like this lasted longer. We would have preferred only one month maintenance fees on the add-on. We also wanted to take advantage of the Disney VISA and pay off all but $2,500 since that would be interest free for 6 months - just didn't want to pull out the money to do this until Jan. 2007 - not next month! Oh well ... can't be too upset - we're getting more points at SSR

What are your views on how long this incentive would last? I know they really want to sell out SSR and find it hard to believe that it wouldn't last until at least the end of the year, but ...

We'll probably do this since $86 per point probably won't come around again and we love SSR.

Just got an email about the deal....15 off 115 points. I don't think they would send out this email, also mentions that they are sending postcard ,and end it at the end of October... Carol

I too just received the email and it is offered to members already for $15 off a point for a purchase of 115 points for ssr or non members $15 off per point but they have to purchase 150 points for ssr.

I could not copy & paste the email to show everyone the email, i guess dvc doesnt permit copying & pasting their emails.

We were down there last week and were told that they had our use year (June) available and that we would get our 2006 points with no back dues for those points. Notified them of our intent to buy yesterday and are waiting for paperwork. We bought 150 points at $86 and were already BW owners. We were also told there were some BW points available, but that would be $95/pt.

We asked if we could sell back the 150 points (as I've read was offered in the past) since we'd just been down there and would have liked to use the cash towards the purchase price, but they said that 15% ($15) was the current offer and wouldn't be able to buy back points. At first we thought we'd rent them, but somehow we've since them found a way to use them ourselves!

It occurs to me that DVC is offering this member's discount to help speed along the sell out of SSR and keep folks from "waiting" and Saving money for points at the new VAKL. I'm going to guess that the point charts are going to be on the premium side for VAKL.

The only discount offered is the current 15% off the $101 for SSR with purchasing a minimum of 115 points. I had asked about BWV and was told there was no discount.
