Can someone tell me if/what is the current incentive Disney is offering for buying into SSR? Also, what type of discount do you get on Annual Passes?

Thanks,

I'm comparing resale to buying through Disney...

We are all ready members and they are offering us 100 off each annual pass just bought ours today.

http://dvc.disney.go.com/dvc/index

And for a limited time you'll receive a complimentary Disney Vacation when you purchase a real estate interest in Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort. What that means, I really don't know. We are SSR members, bought last year and got a discount on the price of the points - now it's $95 pp and I think we got it for $85 pp.
If you buy, then want to buy more...
Purchase an additional Ownership Interest equal to 120 or more Vacation Points at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Disney Vacation Club will add 100 complimentary Vacation Points for a one-time use to your Membership Use Year.

Depending on how many points you want, it would almost seem a deal to get the minimum points then add on and get the additional 100 points. Just a thought.

Yes, any member gets the annual ticket discount. We bought ours in January.

I believe that the current incentive for new owners is $8.00 off per point (unless you choose the developer points for the free vacation). So, with the points at $95.00 right now, you'll be paying $87.00 (or put the $8 per point as your down payment).

Actually, the incentive is, if you add 120 pts. you receive 100 pts. you can use this year or bank for next year, the points are $8 less, ($87.00),for a savings of $960.00, and, they will waive this years maintenance. I wish they had this deal at BCV. Good luck!

I'm liking the idea of buying the minimum points...I guess that's 150?? Then, add on 120 and get the 100 free points.

Does everyone like this method of madness? Would I also get to buy at $87.00 or is this an either/or thing?

Sorry to ask so many questions. I'm so excited about this...my husband is "almost there" - I truly believe we'll be buying soon. He wants me to get one more good project (I'm self- employed) first and then it's a go.

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

There is also the initial purchase incentive of $8 off per point and no dues for 2005. I talked to out guide about it to see if it was a better deal for us than the $10 off per point, but it wasn't.

I'd go ahead and call DVC and speak to a guide. It's a no pressure sales force that can give you all the information you need. They can also send you the complete information packet so that you have more information. And what did they always tell us in school...information is power.

Good luck with your decision...my family and I will be owners very, very soon.

I just bought two 120 point SSR add-ons Friday, and I got this 'deal':

$5.00 off per point, or $90.00 each point.

All 120 2004 UY & 120 2005 UY points (X 2 - once for each contract)

100 Bonus points (bankable, transferable) (X 2 - once for each contract)

No maintenance fees until January 2006.

I think a few have screwed the incentive up.

I may be wrong but I think its $5 off the $95 and 100 bonus points(no maint fees) OR $8 off the $95 initial

I believe the deal is the same except you get $8 off if you don't get current points and $5 off if you do. So all get the 100 free points and free dues for this year.

This is what I got this morning, but I only bought one 120 point contract. The best part is that I am borrowed up to my eyeballs for 2006. Once I close they will bank my 120 2004 points into 2005. Between that, my 100 point bonus, and my 2005 points it will pay for my family blow-out this September. They said if you add on they will put borrowed points back to their original use year. So I get to start 2006 with ALL of my 2006 points plus I get bank 85 left over 2005.

Now I have 420 points. I have to dance! :cool1:  :cool1:

I was just 'expedited' by hand delivered deed/closing papers to Disney yesterday...So we will see how long until I get a membership card. I am thinking of taking the deal that would give me 120 SS points: 100 bonus, 120 2004 and 120 2005 IF I can still get those 2004 points. I count points that you don't have to pay maintenance on as $10.00 point value becasue that is what you can probably rent them for . Using that cost adjustment, the $90 points can be brought down to $70 per point if you don't use the points but rent them to get the money to pay cash for the points in the first place.

Hope that my thinking is right on this, because who would refuse 120 SS points if the true cash outlay was $8400 after all these points get rented.
I still have my BWV points to use for me!!! so I would be a happy camper.

Pam, I think a lot of folks here are confusing the add-on incentive with the new purchase incentive. They are not the same thing, although you may want to combine them if you are purchasing 270 or more points. Especially since the add-on incentive seems to vary depending on what your use year is, I think you need to speak directly to your guide.

Current new purchase incentive as I understand -- not to be confused with the add-on incentive mentioned extensively here and elsewhere:

Purchase at SSR through Disney
Option 1 -- 100 bonus pts expiring 12/31/05 -- this is the "free vacation"
Option 2: $8/point reduction in price -- from $95 to $87

If you finance through Disney for 10 years, the interest rate is can be as "good" as 10.75% for 10% down or 9.75% for 20%+ down. Currently, they are selling September UY. Payments begin in October and will need to include maintenance dues for the last three months of 2005.

This is how I understand it as it was described to me by my guide. He has been confused somewhat with the other members-only incentive at SSR (100 pts if purchasing 120) so I'm not sure if this is all correct. It doesn't help that he is working with another person with the same name as mine -- that's just wrong! :)

If any of you have received other information, I'd like to know. It might help clarify some of the info we've received.

Looks like it all depends on who you talk to...

We just bought two 120 point SSR add-ons in early March. We got:

$8.00 off per point, or $87.00 each point.

All 120 2004 UY & 120 2005 UY points (X 2 - once for each contract)

100 Bonus points (bankable, transferable) (X 2 - once for each contract)

No maintenance fees until January 2006.

Does that mean no maintenance fees for the 2004 and 2005 - 120 pts?

Wow.

I Just Purchased My 1st Contract Thru Dvc Yesterday. My Guide

I just did this deal, but paid $90 per point because I took the '04 points. I was told it would be $87 only if I took the '05 points. If you paid $87 and still got the $87 per point you got a better deal than the rest of us. Good for you :goodvibes bad for me

I'm looking at doing the same thing. Let me get this straight (I hope):

For $90/pt, you get the Sept. 04 points (sept 05 use year for me, I just purchased so I don't get my points until Sept 1st 05) then you can use or bank them to Sept. 05 use year. Do I have to pay the dues or is it the same deal as my Sept 05 points, no dues till jan. 06? I would then get my new 120 pts on Sept 1/05 and my 100 bonus pts on Sept 1st as well for Sept 05 use year.

Sheesh I hope I made sense.

Thanks.
