Gold members, what have you been receiving in your staterooms recently? Does DCL still give out the Castaway Cay totes?

All Castaway Cay members get the bags. I got one when I sailed the Magic in October, and I'm gold. And I got them back when I was silver.

If you're asking about tote bags, they haven't given those out to anyone since 2017? It has been the same sling bag since then for all levels with Gold also getting luggage tags, and Platinum also getting an in room gift--chocolates/bubbly/fruit/etc. I liked our sling bag that we got as Silver members in 2018. I'm a Girl Scout leader and have used it to hold the first aid kit, paperwork, and my water bottle. It's a good day bag, not a good beach bag though!

A couple of cruises ago, I coordinated a 'Sling Bag exchange' in the FB group so that all those previous cruisers who had several sling bags could gift them to first time cruiser... if I recall correctly 90 (!) first time cruisers received sling bags. The most given up by a single person was 8 but there were several people (including myself) that had 5 or 6 sitting around! I think it is time for a new gift.

Maybe give the sling bag to silver level cruisers because it is pretty clear that they are not particularly useful after 5 or more cruises!

That's what I was asking about, thanks. It's a shame - that tote bag is much more useful than the sling bag.
