Current Epcot Rope Drop situation

I have family at WDW this week. I am their schedule advisor, ha! With Test Track being closed, I know that means more people are running to Soarin. Has this affected how early one should be at the gate if RD’ing Soarin?

I was just there last week.
I'd get to the Epcot gates at least 45 min. before the posted opening time.
(Earlier couldn't hurt.)

Guests will enter before the posted opening time and will then be held again until just about "opening time" at the south side of Spaceship Earth.

I would agree with Robo, be in the park, not in line at security or the tapstiles, at least 45 minutes before opening.
Instead of 3 attractions for most of th ecrowd to head toward, theres only 2. A few minutes could make a huge difference in the lines.
When we did RD at AK for FoP, 15 minutes was at least 1000 people behind us or more.

If you're a fast walker, you might consider starting at the back entrance- there will be WAY less people there.

Not necessarily such a major difference as it once was due to the constant influx of guests arriving at this entrance from multiple resorts via the new gondola system.
And, it also depends on where the "back entrance" (International Gateway) guests are held before being released into the Epcot attraction areas.

What time did you get to AK for RD to Fop? Planning to do this next month since I couldn’t get a FP.

my family did it yesterday and got there at 7:40am for a 9am opening.
