Fair enough. But I assume that being a princess is different to many other jobs at Disney and maybe easier because it’s just acting right? Most people love the princesses so they are not going to be rude to them. Or am I missing something?
While I admit I haven't been a Princess, I've done some acting in my life. Wearing a heavy costume and having to "be" another person is draining, even for just a couple of hours (duration of a show). Doing it for longer periods, either extended or broken up, can be REALLY wearing.

Yes, most people are not going to be rude, but, when you're interacting with thousands of people in a day, it's not hard to believe that there will be some "I'm the IMPORTANT one" people in there causing issues.

I would have thought it was the most fun job on the ship and at Disney world.

You mean it would be easier to be just “a princess” than to “be Cinderella”? Yeah that’s probs true
Yes, and some (like Mags here) are friends with more than one princess. I keep remembering meeting Snow White at Akershus many years ago, and it was as though Snow White had stepped out of the 1937 movie and to our table - just amazing!

Is it really that hard on the body to put on a dress and pretend to be a princess? What is it about working for Disney that is hard? Not being snarky, genuinely wondering.
Yes it is hard to portray a character that people love. It is not only hard physically, but mentally as we need to be completely in character (voice, posture, mannerisms, movements, understanding and being able to discuss the story, autographs, and what my friend calls being “generally princessy”) and maintain that throughout the set. We are constantly doing improv, and interacting with a lot of different people who have different expectations. At the end of a set, I am usually very tired!!!

It is definitely seen as the “fun” role, and it is! But it is exhausting too. Most Guests are not rude, but some have been and it is difficult maintaining character integrity when people are not respectful

Taking our first cruise with our kids (6 and 4). I’ve sailed DCL a few times in the past, but not since the early 2000s. It’ll be good to be back.

Now that we’re about 30 days from sailing, could you tell me which princesses are likely to be on the Fantasy the week of November 4th? I realize anything could change for any reason, but it would great to hear! Thank you!
From what I have heard from fellow CMs, it should be Mulan, Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, Rapunzel and Tiana. I do know that some of these Princesses have recently been home to visit so I am not exactly sure which ones will have returned by the time you cruise. I will double check for you

I'm emotionally spent after hosting large family gatherings, so I can only imagine the toll of trying to determine and meet the expectations of strangers. Maybe it would be easier if I had an army of woodland creatures to help with the cleaning and my outfit ;)
Haha! Some of my friends are definitely very lucky to have some little helpers!

How many sets are there in a typical day?

Do the friends of princesses clock in and out or is it a non-hourly position?

Is staying within the physical guidelines a challenge or is not an issue for you? And do you sometimes just say “the heck with it, I’m eating that whole pizza, Cindy will never know”.

Is there a Prince that does meet and greets?

You try going go work and getting sexually harassed by grown men who should know better while their wife stands 2 feet away and laughs about it. 👍
BTW if you have to say "I'm not trying to be snarky" you already know you're being rude!

One My favorite interactions ever was the prince at the dining with Cinderella step mother and step sisters.

I've never seen a prince on ship. The only male face character I've seen is Jack sparrow on board

I didn't realize you knew which friends were on board other ships... I leave Friday on the fantasy... I'm so sad jack and Sally have vanished 😭

Is there any chance of seeing ariel this upcoming week. I missed her last time on the dream.

It really depends on the day (port or sea) and if I’m in any shows that day. But it is nothing like WDW where you are just on and off all day.
Yes we clock in and out.
Haha well I do go to the gym each day, and am usually fairly good with my food. But sometimes I will definitely eat a lot more than I should (I love fries 😂).
There are some Princes in shows, but they don’t do meet and greets

I have some friends on other ships so can sometimes get info from them!
As far as I am aware, Ariel is not currently hanging out on the Fantasy

Dealing with the public and their expectations is the most demanding type of work, because no matter how hard you try there will always be someone who isnt happy.
