Current AK DVC owners opinion wanted

Great resort, but be warned, you could be in for a very long walk to/from your unit and the bus or restaurants. . The place is very spread out.

I have to say my last two trips, I have had some pixie dust as I was as close to the lobby as you could be. I have also had a room that was almost near the end... and yes it is a long trek. I REALLY loved being so close to the lobby.

Yes, but AKL has two buildings - Jambo and Kidani - and as such, the same buses stop at both buildings.

This is true. I remember a VERY long walk that I had when we stayed at Caribbean Beach resort and Old Key West. It's really not that bad at all.

Kidani is our home and favorite resort by far. Every time we’ve decided to try a different resort, I’ve found myself thinking “I wish we were at Kidani.” Lesson learned... we’re going to stick with what we know we love and “go home” every trip.

I own at CCV and AKV. I love both, on a recent one night trip I asked the group where we all wanted to stay. Not two seconds later it's AKV please from all the people. We love it because it's so far removed and we're IN the Disney Bubble but removed from a lot of the GO GO GO vibe

That's the main reason why I dislike Kidani. Although I've asked for close to the lobby both times I've stayed there, I've never gotten it. Last time there were only about 4-5 more rooms between me and the furthest end of the resort. No rooms closer? But I LOVE Jambo, and I've said that if we were in the market for more points, I'd buy there. Actually my upcoming trip includes 4 nights in a savannah view and I'm only planning for one park day.

I've owned there for 10 years and I have never regretted purchasing there. We have tried other resorts but our favorite place to stay is AKL. Totally unique experience. Love the decor, the restaurants. It's like a whole separate vacation when you leave the parks.

We own at AKL and have stayed several times. Recommend the Savannah View especially for the kids.

We bought points not long after Kidani opened and we love it. At least 6-7 trips and never had a bad trip. We’re fairly active and fit 60somethings so the long hallways are not an issue for us right now. It’s actually pretty quiet at the end of those hallways.

It’s one of our home resorts and we love it. We prefer Kidani; you get 2 full bathrooms in a 1 bedroom, the rooms are large, Savanna view is great if you want to spend the points. The Kidani pool has a great water slide and splash area. Sanaa and Jiko are great table service restaurants, we make sure to visit both every trip.

We don’t feel the extra minute or 5 bus ride to MK and EP is a big deal for us. The resort is a nice calm escape from what can be a hectic Disney vacation.

We currently own AKV, BWV, CCV, PVB and have stayed AKV more than any other resort.

We stayed at Jambo earlier this month and loved it. I wish we could have spent more time enjoying the resort! The running situation is awful, I was one of those crazy people around a parking lot! We will definitely stay there again. New to DVC so we have many more to try still, we were moderate resort people before DVC so we have so many to try!
