Planning a trip in December 2017 (likely the week before Cmas). Want to start watching rates at the S&D and am curious what people may have paid around that time this year. If you were just recently there and don't mind sharing your rate, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

We have stayed at the Swan that time of year before and I was able to get rates of $170 per night with my husband's government discount. When I looked at rates for this year it was $270 per night, but when I added in the parking and resort fee, it made it comparable to the rate I already had booked at the Beach Club (nice discount through a travel agent). I stayed at the Swan in the new renovated rooms in November (for a work conference) for $265 per night. I liked the new rooms, but be warned they are going to be renovating the lobbies of both hotels in the near future, which may impact your stay.

My husband and I were at the Swan on Dec.3 and Dec.4. We paid $179 a night with a Santa discount. We didn't have a car so that didn't include a parking fee. When I first booked the room I just called and asked for the most inexpensive room and I think that was around $235 a night. We were flying in pretty late at night and had planned on just staying the one night before heading over to the BWI CL. I saw something on the Dis about a Santa discount so I called again asking about it and decided to stay two nights due to the fact that we were going to MVMCP on Dec.4 so why pay the crazy club level prices at the BWI if we wouldn't be at the hotel at all.

On a little side note when we checked in to the Swan at about 9:00 pm they only had one person on the front desk and one couple ahead of us that were asking every question under the sun! They had already checked in but were just going on and on asking about were to eat each meal and all about how to get to each park, etc. My husband and I were being polite standing in line at first but this went on forever and the poor desk woman was trying to answer their questions and move them along. After what had to be twenty minutes and felt like an hour she managed to move them along and as soon as they were out of earshot she was very apologetic to us and gave us a free upgrade to a balcony room for our patience. We enjoyed the hotel and for the price we will probably stay again for the first night of our trip.
