If we don't use a skycap then we use the curbside both MCO & BWI. Much faster usually, yes, they do weigh it. I usually tip $1 per bag at curbside. I have a small scale that I weigh before we leave so that I can re-sort things if I need to.
We always use this service as it avoids the sometimes long lines inside at the counter. We tip $1-2 per bag, usually $5 for the 3 of us (3 bags). I have never been charged for this service - just the tipping.
Im sure they bag fee would come into play for AA ($25 for the 1st bag). Just wanted to know if MCO had curbside/skycap bag check for that airline. Thanks.
Southwest is curbside but not sure about others. It is faster IMO. We usually return or car at MCO and then go back outside for curbside checkin becuse the line inside was very long but outside had only 2 people last year.

That's not what the PP was referring to. Many airlines charge an additional fee of around $2 per bag for curbside check in and you still should tip the skycap as that money does not go to them.

Some airlines charge a fee to use the curbside checkin - in addition to paying for checked bags but most just operate on tips. IIRC Jet Blue was charging in Boston last April.
Some airports have very long lines at curbside - others not as much. I find Logan and Philadelphia to have shorter lines inside and MCO to have shorter lines at curb side. Yes they will weigh your bags, if fact the check in process is the same as if you had checked in at the counter except that your expected to tip per bag.
I know MCO does have some curbside, I have used SWA a few times. If you arrive via taxi/towncar you will be dropped off on the departure floor and have easy access to the curbside checkin. If you use DME you will have to go up one level inside the airport and then go back outside to use curbside.
I usually just check in inside unless the lines are significantly shorter outside.
Continental offers it at MCO. WE have used it several times there. It's much better than lugging your bags to the counter and worth a few bucks tip IMO.
We have only flown SW to MCO and they do have cubside check in, it is the only thing we have ever used. We really like it and it has been quicker for us each time. There is no additional fee as others have posted and we always tip $1 per bag.
I have used it at MCO for American, United and Delta. Some of them do charge a fee for it (not including the tip) but I don't recall if all of them do.
