I've tried so many for our upcoming trip but they either leak when dropped or shaken or just when tilted. Does anyone know of a cup for kids and toddlers that truly doesn't leak and that will stand up to a beating?

Thermos foogo and funtainer are good and stay cold all day.

I also like toddler Nalgene bottles with the sippy top. 8 years, two kids, no leaks. Nslgene is Made in the USA

These are the ONLY cups I've found so far that don't leak or break after DS throws them. Munchkin makes some others with the Click Lock technology with a soft spout that work fairly well too, but they do leak a little bit from the spout.

My son (21 months) will still only drink out of a straw (or an open cup, but obviously that's not practical for travel). He refuses any kind of spout. I use the Munchkin click lock cups with the soft straws. He has thrown them many times, and they've held up. It is true that if you tip them upside down and hold them there, some liquid will drip out. But overall, they work fine for us and most importantly, my kid will drink out of them.

Thanks for the advice about the straw click lock cups. Hopefully some day I can try those out! I find it interesting how every child is so different in their preferences. My DS will be 2 next month (so just a little older than yours) and refuses to drink from a straw sippy cup yet. He will drink from a kids cup with lid and straw like you get at a restaurant, but if it's a sippy cup with a straw, he won't touch it!

as you say every child is different my 18 month old granddaughter only wants a straw in reg cup or a straw sippy cup no spout cups for her

We LOVE the Thermos Funtainers. We have some that have lasted 5 years. They've been dropped and abused and left under car seats (we only use them for water) and they still don't leak. The flip part of the lid can come off, but none of ours have broken.

I've just this summer switched them to water bottles without straws, and we really like POGO bottles that we found at Target. But for straws, I would definitely say Funtainers.

Playtex used to (like 8 years ago) have really good ones and Disney as well, but I haven't been able to find any that don't leak since my youngest, 3 now, was born and it's annoying. Some are def. better than others....I believe we still use disney platex ones but they're see. not as good.

Munchkin Miracle 360 are amazing! And they get them ready for big boy/girl cups. They do not spill at all. My 2.5 year old DS & 16 month old DD had no trouble changing over to them from straw cups.

I agree with PP. Those Munchkin 360 cups are the best!!

My niece has been using kids' Camelbaks since she was a baby. The ones I have used have never leaked.
