CSR - Which section?

I've looked at the pics online and I do have to say, judging from the outside, I DO NOT want to stay in the ranchos...they're ugly IMHO.
Between the Casitas and the Cabanas, which should I request? The Casitas look really nice, but I need some expert opinion. And if this helps, I paid for water view.
Also, does CSR have king beds for water views?

My personal perference is the cabana section. I like 8a or 9b. I do think kings are available in waterview.

We stayed in 8A water view and loved it. Not sure about the king bed, although my DB had the suite next to ours and he had a king.

We had a 4th floor waterview in the Casitas and we loved it! We had a king bed. I loved being so close to the main building and we could see all the different sections and had a great view of the pyramid across the lake. We also looked down to a pretty courtyard with a fountain.

Before our June 2002 trip we preferred the Cabanas based on pictures. We requested it but upon arrival at 10am, they had a ranchos room with a view upgrade ready that early so we took it. Boy were we happy! We personally found the Cabanas to look like old huts and the casistas look like brightly colored condos. Not to mention the casistas are the popular choice for conventioners. The ranchos were quiet and peaceful, and better themed than the other two sections. We took so many pcitures along the little brooks and on the large rocks throughout the section. We found it to be very romantic for us since we just couldn't swing a deluxe that trip. If we had children we still wuld have preferred the ranchos section but we may have requested Cabanas that are closer to the food court and main area.
All in all,we would go back to CSR and we would request ranhos again. I guess it is all in what theme you prefer and whether you are looking to be right where the main area is or farther away. Good luck! :)

Tnkrbl2199,
You bring up an interesting point with the kids.
Is there any section that seems to attract less kids and families than others? That may sway my final vote. It seems the ranchos because they are farther away, but then the casistas are popular with conventioners, so maybe less kids.
I know its Disney and I should expect it, but I do not enjoy waking up to little ones screaming outside my window. We stayed at ASMo, bottom corner next to Woody and that is all we heard! But our POFQ bottom corner room was nice and peaceful.

I guess it depends on what your priorities are. If you want to be close to the dining facilities, shopping, guest services and a bus stop I would suggest Casita #1. If you will be spending a fair amount of time swimming then I would suggest Cabanas 9A or 9B.
