CSR - too much walking?

Hi,

I have booked CSR for our vacation this year. Then I started catching up on all the back episodes of the cast and hear the constant complaint of CSR being too spread out which causes too much walking.

Here is my question though. When I booked this and researched this, it seems that CBR is far more spread out then CSR yet I never hear the moaning of the walking in relation to CBR.

Am I missing something here? Is CSR really more spread out then CBR?

I thought I did more walking at CSR than I ever do at CBR. At CBR the main pool is next to the food court. At CSR they are not together. At CBR you can book a preferred room that is close to the food court and you can't do that at CSR.

I actually feel they are pretty close? to me depending on where you are in CBR you could walk a long way!!! either way when you go to disney you should expect to walk a lot!? I think they are equal!:confused3

On the resorts board, there is a a guy (Hydroguy?) who loves CSR and has a website with everything you need/want to know about CSR. Best area to stay in if you want to avoid walking, want more quiet, etc. Check it out - it was VERY helpful in our trip planning. :thumbsup2

It was our first trip, so I can't compare it to CBR. However, since it WAS our first trip and we were there at such a busy time, we did "commando" touring - at the park before rope drop everyday and back late at night. Occasionally I we had an afternoon break so DH could recuperate :lmao:

We had to walk to our room but I never found it too tiresome (and I usually was so exhausted, I napped on DH on the bus ride back to CSR ;) Also, there are staff that go around on golf-like carts and you can just wave them down and hitch a ride if you are too tired. We knew which area to request so we were not too far from the pool or the food court. :goodvibes

The pool is a lot of fun, and the "food court" was great. The Rix Cafe was also opened at the time and we popped in for some pastries, picked up some sandwiches for our flight home, etc. It was really convenient having the food court and quick to-go available. :upsidedow

Have a great trip!

cheers,
:flower3:

As far as after the parks just like CBR I believe CSR has a few bus stops

so that shouldn't be too bad I believe it has an internal bus as well or you could just figure out how the buses run & hitch a bus till the next stop!

I've stayed at CSR a few times and have never had a problem feeling like the resort was too big. My best suggestion if you don't want to walk far is to request Cabanas 9B or 9A. those buildings are very close to the main building and just a quick walk from the main bus stop. I've stayed in that section twice and have never had a problem.

I have stayed at POR, CBR and CSR. I thought they all seemed equally spread out to me. We did a lot of walking at all of them. But we didn't have a problem with it, because in the mornings we just always went to whichever bus stop was closest to our room. But we aren't people who need to walk to the "main area" a lot. We bring snacks and eat breakfast in our room and then spend all day at the parks so I thought they were all fine. I love the moderates, I think they are a great deal for the price...I wish we had something like them here in California!

We've stayed at CSR twice and CBR once last fall. It's really dependent on your room location. On this past trip to CSR we were at the extreme far end of the resort from the food court back in Ranchos. It wasn't that far from the pool though. The issue was, we got the refillable mug, and it was a 30 min walking round trip (for DH who walks FAST) to go get coffee in the am or soda in the pm and get us breakfast or a snack. When the pool bar is open you can fill it there, but it's not open in the morning or late at night, so that was inconvenient. When we were there, there was a large convention that had paid for shuttle service. There were large (8 seater) golf carts being driven around to pick people up and shuttle them around the resort. We used it a couple times to save our feet. Unfortunately, when the convention left, so did the shuttles. :sad1: I know we stayed in Ranchos on our first trip there too, but we didn't buy the mug then, so it wasn't a big deal to us where the food court was - we ate in the parks most days. The inlaws stayed at CSR the week of our wedding, they got a better location than we did and they really liked it and didn't even mention anything being a far walk.
