CSR or POP right now?

We are thinking about doing a last-minute trip soon and found both Coronado and POP Century on a Hot Rate on Hotwire. We have stayed at both resorts in the past (CSR twice and POP multiple times) and like them both equally, but for different reasons. The price difference between the two is only $200 for the week ($100 per room x 2 rooms) so that is not a factor. I am wondering with COVID and different amenities being open/closed at different resorts if there is anything we should consider when choosing between these two resorts right now. Do both have their main pools open? Are both of the food courts fully operational? Are the menus limited? Is the Skyliner running? I assume both are without housekeeping, which is fine because we always request no housekeeping anyway. I would love to hear from anyone who has been two either of these resorts since the COVID protocols have been in place about how the experience was.

Check out these summaries or what’s open/what’s not at each, it will touch on most of your questions:

CSR - https://www.disboards.com/threads/wdw-resorts-open-closed-detail-faq-thread.3826299/post-62694242

Pop - https://www.disboards.com/threads/wdw-resorts-open-closed-detail-faq-thread.3826299/post-62694259

Note at Pop, the Hippy Dippy Pool is closed through ‘early March’ for refurbishment.

A somewhat frequent comment from CSR guests is that El Mercado - the CSR quick service - has had limited hours and very limited grab/go items, not the usual multi-station food court setup. Some are fine with this given CSR’s other options, some don’t like it - will probably vary based on your personal defining/palate preferences.

For housekeeping, you can opt out fully (but not for a gift card) or they will come every other day as follows:

And during your stay, your room will receive a light cleaning service every other day, which will include:
  • Removal of trash and used towels
  • Replenishment of towels and amenities throughout the room and bathroom
  • Wiping and cleaning of the vanity and counter surfaces
  • Vacuuming if needed

Hope that helps!
