This is basically a "trip of a lifetime" for us. We are not rich and now we find out that the big slide will be closed.   and that doesn't even cut it! I am SOOOO angry! Should I change to another resort? Can I at this point? My boys are 6 and 11 and I am sure they will be so depressed everytime they see that giant slide.
Buzz2001 I'd love you to talk me out of it and make me see that things aren't so bad. But right now I am beside myself.

Where did you learn that the pool was closed? I see only possibly the Dig Site being closed.

The pool will be open. Just the slide will be closed. You might want to change the title of your thread as it's misleading.

I'm curious too. There have been many posts in regards to this, but I keep reading different answers. And isn't the Dig Site the entire pool area! That's even worse than just the slide.

If a slide will make or break your trip, then you should change. The pool will still be open and the pool in itself is awesome.

I'd be surprised if a closed water slide would ruin the whole trip for you, how much time do you plan to be at the resort vs the ton of other things to do at Disney? If it's a deal breaker, look into the POR or POFQ, the main pool at the CBR is closed all summer also.

Hi!
I am wondering where you found this information? I too will be at CSR in April and was quite upset when I heard the slide would be closed! But originally I heard it would be closed from 3/31 to 4/30/08! I will be there 4/18/08 to 4/26 and if this is true... maybe it will be back open by the time we get there!

But, again sorry you are upset, I was at first and then after talking it over with my 11-y/o DS we decided that we would not let it ruin our trip and we will in fact still get to swim in the beautiful pool and enjoy the beautiful resort. We also are planning on going to Blizzard BEach and TL, so that will be our SLIDE fixes!

If the slide being closed will RUIN your trip, don't even think about it change resorts.
We are headed to CSR May 15-18 for a short stay following our cruise and when I heard that the slide might be unusable during our stay I considered switching resorts but then decided that the slide is not my familys main reason for staying at CSR. My DD's (11 and 9) would love it, but it won't ruin their trip if they can't use it.

Have a magical trip what ever you decide!

My TA copied it directly from Disney's TA website.

Thanks for talking me down from the ledge :upsidedow We will stay where we are and thanks to Disboards I found a free upgrade using my Disney Visa so now we'll go to a water park (or two) for "FREE"!:cool1:

Plus I'm glad to have alerted a couple people to the closing.

Over and OUT.:cool2:

In the AllEars newsletter this week ~

"Coronado Springs Resort's Jaguar Pool Slide will be closed March 31 - April 18, 2008. The Lost City of Cibola Pool will remain open during this time."

I know slides are sooo much fun! My DS loves pool slides, and honestly...so do I. :woohoo: But, I wouldn't let that spoil my stay at a resort that I really want to stay at. At least the pool is open, and even though it would be fun to have the slid open as well...I still wouldn't have that make me change resorts.

Hopefully with the new dates you will be able to use the slide but even if you can't your kids will love the pool.
