CSR...How to make room requests and which building?

HI! I went to DxL 2 years ago, requested a room and got it. I went to POFQ and mde a request last year and did get it. THis year, I booked through AAA and would like to make a room request. I'd like to make sure I get it. I odn't mind having my bags checked and simply unpacking after a night at Epcot. What is the best way to go about this at CSR?

There are 2 adults in out party. We'd like a room centrally located near a bus stop, pool, and main building.

Well, I had a room request (Cabanas) on my reservation, and I didn't get it, but we were very pleased with our room.

We were in Casitas 2 (#2373), overlooking a courtyard. We were about a 5 minute walk from bus stop #2, and about 10 minutes walk from El Centro (food court, registration, etc). The walk to the main pool was quite a hike, but there was a quite pool at the back of our building. Also, since the kids hated the long walk to the pool, we usually drove and parked at Cabanas for the Dig Site pool.

For the most central location, I think Cabanas is your best bet, but they won't guarantee that you will get what you request.

As far as I know, the same as any other resort. make the requests at time of making the reservation and fax in your requests 5 days prior to your arrival.

If you booked through AAA, then you won't be able to modify the reservation at all. That includes adding room requests. You'd have to go through your AAA agent to do that. Disney's usually pretty strict about not changing anything on a travel agent's booking without the travel agent actually doing it.

HI! Well, thanks for all your info. I planned on making the room request through my AAA travel agent. I was just wondering if Disney actually looks at requests made through travel agents...

Here's what I did before our trip to Coronado Springs in August of 1999.

I read a lot about it here on the DIS and other disney related bulletin boards like this one.

I also studied the map (found here as well) and the resort FAQ.

I decided the best location for us would be Cabana 8A because our main concerns at the time were to be close to the main pool and a bus stop.

I faxed our 'requests' three days before we were scheduled to arrive, and we got everything we asked for; a non smoking room in Cabana 8A!
