CSR experts...will I be disappointed???

This is very helpful. I am looking to book my Oct 09 trip and was going to stay at CSR. When in Oct will the renovations be done? We will get there on 10/13...will we be ok. We are there for a very short stay and don't use the pool much. What is the difference bewteen the different bus stops? We will be doing MK and Epcot, so which bus stop do I want?

Thanks.

! They told me they will take room requests 10 days before check-in, so call them, bug them until someone gives you an answer!

I don't think bugging them will get you much help - but a nice friendly fax, asking if they could possibly help with your requests could go far. :)

The rehab is scheduled to be completed October 09. Does that mean the beginning, middle or end? Can't say for sure...but they have been working at a really nice pace.

Here are where the bus stops are located:

BUSES
Theme park bus stops go in this order:
The bus stops are:
Bus Stop 2: Casitas
Bus Stop 3: Ranchos
Bus Stop 4: Ranchos and Cabanas
Bus Stop 1: El Centro

DtD and Exit buses
The bus stops are:
Bus Stop 1: El Centro
Bus Stop 2: Casitas
Bus Stop 3: Ranchos
Bus Stop 4: Ranchos and Cabanas

They go in this order to assist guests in getting to the main building and back to their village.

Here is the amount of time it takes from the buses to the parks once they leave the resort:

Hollywood Studios - Bus Stop 6 (1st stop) - 6 min ride once leaving resort
AK - Bus Stop 8 (middle) - 6 min ride once leaving resort
MK - Bus Stop 10 (1st) - 10 min ride once leaving resort
Epcot - Bus Stop 7 (2nd) - 7 min ride once leaving resort
BB - Bus Stop 6 (middle) - 3 min ride once leaving resort

We always request Casitas 4 or 5 (closest to Bus Stop 2 -- but we don't use the buses, we drive). We have gotten our request four out of the five times we asked for it (the only time we didn't was this past September...but they upgraded us to a suite in Casitas 3--so no complaints from us!). It takes us (and we are ages 51 and 56) five minutes to walk to the main building from there and about eight mintues to the main pool.

Thank you, so the bus stops at each of the stops and then to the Theme park or where ever it is going. If we wanted to go to other hotels, how would we do that?

Easy! Just take a bus from your resort to any park (we go to the one closest to our resort) and hop a bus for the resort you want to visit (or monorail if you go to EPCOT and you're visiting an MK resort). :thumbsup2

If it's an MK resort and you're coming from any park other than EPCOT, when you get to the MK bus stop you have the option of taking the monorail or water launch - we usually take the water launch because we enjoy it so much and miss it when not staying at an MK resort.

Have fun!!

If you want to visit other hotels, you'll have to change buses at a theme park or take a cab. For example, if you wanted to eat at Boma at AKL, you could take the bus to AK, then wait there for the bus to AKL. You can transfer buses at a theme park, or at DTD (but buses to DTD tend to be slow and not as frequent).

We've stayed at CSR three times and never had an issue with the buses. Even though we drive to WDW, we use the Disney transportation most of the time, unless we're eating at a resort or going to DTD.

We're at CSR this week...also in Casitas 4, but, we definitely have queen-size beds (no refurb though). We've stayed at many different resorts in WDW (Poly, CR, AKL, POFQ, CBR, FW, and now CSR) and we're not huge fans of the moderates, mostly due to the size of the resorts (there are not really any rooms that are convenient to the pools, the transportation, and the main bldg/eating areas), though, I will say, CSR is probably our 2nd favorite mod, after the significantly smaller POFQ. As some have pointed out, one of the nice features about Casitas 4/5 is their proximity to Bus Stop 2 which is the first in line for the Parks....we find it frustrating though that it takes longer to get out of the resort than it takes to get to the parks once you've finally made all the stops. El Centro (Bus Stop 1) is definitely the busiest this week and there always seems to be a bottleneck there. So, after a couple of days of dealing with the buses, we've just decided to drive. Seems like we are able to get where we want to go so much faster, even when you account for tram rides. I will say, the queen-sized beds are a nice feature vs other mods. The theming at CSR is great and the main pool is really neat (and heated;) ). We would probably not hesitate to book at CSR again....it might even be a toss-up with POFQ. Hope that helps!

Glad you are enjoying CSR and that you got the queen beds (wish you would have gotten a new room). Like you, we just drive. We find it so much easier. We leave very early in the morning and very seldom have to use the tram...we park so close.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your stay and that you will write a report when you return home.

behappy, so glad you are having a wonderful time! Nice you have the queen beds - a newly refurbished room would have been even nicer. ;)

Looking forward to some photos when you return, please!

Hello there...Hope you are enjoying it there!! If you are around at all anytime soon, I have a few questions!! :-)
1. How busy is it there this week? MK~long lines??
2. I know we all have different styles, but POFQ vs. CSR? You state a toss/tie but I have never stayed at either...any recommendations? I like the fact that POFQ can transport to DTD via boat...
3. Which pool do you feel is better between pofq and csr? slide, kid wise?

Thanks so much for your feedback!!!

ENJOY!
