A friend of mine and her DH are taking their sons 4 and 7 to CSR in late May. She has looked at every website in the world and cannot decide between the Cabanas section or the Casitas section. As I have never stayed there and know nothing about the resort, I told her I would ask the experts. So . . . Cabanas or Casitas and why?

It depends on what's most important to them....if they want to be close to the main "dig site" pool, I would recommend the cabanas section....we have stayed in cabanas, building #8A before and loved it...it was the absolute closest to the main pool and a very short walk to the parking lot and bus stop #4....cabanas #9B would be closer to El Centro and the main bus stop, but, still not too far from the main pool....the casitas would be closer to El Centro, but, can be a pretty good haul to the main pool....I guess it just comes down to what's more important to them...the rooms are all the same on the inside, only the theming on the outside of the buildings are different...

Thanks Buzz for the website, beautiful photos of CSR!! I had planned on staying 1 night there in October and then switch to WL for 6 nights, but I think I might arrive early and stay at CSR for 2 nights!

Wishing everyone a "magical" day!

I'm going the be totally honest. I've been a favorite of the Cabanas for years and have stayed no other place but the Cabanas. Well last August we again had a request for the Cabanas and could not stay there due to renovations. Well we got put in the Casitas and let me tell you we fell in love all over again. We loved the Casitas just as much as the Cabanas, if we had to make the choice again I think I would be at a lost. I guess that is why this year we are staying at the Caribbean Beach. We don't want to be forced to make that decision so soon again. So I would say the Casitas.

Hey, what about Ranchos 7B?

:) :)

It has the "quiet pool" as well.

short (maybe not THE shortest) walks to "The Dig Site" and the bus stop!

We stayed in Cabana 8A and it was perfect for us; close to the main pool, parking lot and bus stop. But one of the better features is that the building sits sideways, so you don't get any direct parking lot views!

I'm with ArielsDad why not the ranchos? They are my favorite because we knew we wouldn't be eating @ the Pepper Market (even if we did want to, you can walk it in 5 - 8 min. or ride the bus around). The Rancho are close to the Dig Site pool and the busstop.

The cabanas would be my second choice. I love the hammocks by the beach area.

I don't hate the casitas, but this is were the "suits" stay for conventions. It is not a bad thing, but they are up and about early in the a.m. and usually in late in the p.m. We have noticed some of them rather "happy with drink" if ya know what I mean, and they were a bit obnoxiously loud.

That's my two cents. We love CSR and I am sure your friends will too!!

Thanks for all the replies. I think they have decided on the Cabanas. I keep trying to get her to register and ask these questions for herself - I don't know why the internet freaks some people out. Now I really want to go to CSR! That's how my trips always get planned! Everybody on the boards seemed to be so excited about POFQ opening that I planned a Christmas trip with my sister so we could check it out. Maybe DH and I can squeeze in a quick trip to CSR in August!;)
