CSR and summer conventions?

Our family is going to WDW in split trips this summer (3 of us in June and 2 in July). I asked CRO about CSR for each trip and no rooms were available. Is part of CSR closed now, or are there that many conventions going on that they would totally fill up? One trip is June 12-19, and the other July 24-31. Anyone have any info???

I don't think any parts of CSR are closed. I remember reading a lot of threads that folks could not get PO FQ or POR because of closures and that CSR and AKL were offered as alternatives. Not sure though. I'm sure there are conventions during that time but the way I look at it the more the better. That means less folks on the buses going to the parks because they will be working.

There could very well be several conventions booked...and it could also be people staying there because Port Orleans (French Quarter) is still closed.

I look at having a convention at the resort the same way Buzz does...less people on the buses and more room for us at the pool!

HI! We are staying at CSR from July 6-13. We booked back in December when we were told that we could not book at either POR or POFQ. Now they are accepting ressie's for both. I have been debating whether or not to switch. But I think I will stay with CSR. I wish I had some ehlpful hints on this!

Don't think that having the convention is a guarantee that you will have the pool to yourself

When we were there last year....LOTS of conventions at CSR. There were people in business attire with cel phones & briefcases everywhere. And they did group together at the pool alot.

Don't think they are in meetings 24/7....because they DO get free time.
Yes the buses did not seem as crowded....but the lounges and common areas were crowded. They roamed in groups.

Funny though...I called 2 days ago just to check a couple things and was told CSR was the ONLY moderate that HAD availability for June 13 - 17 !!
I don't think June and July are busy convention months though!!
It is probably filled up with displaced PO-FQ guests.
But since they are reopening it as of May 31st. CSR should open up even more.

CSR is one of our family's favorite resorts, and it would be our first choice this summer, since we are having to go in two separate trips and would like to save money per trip! We love the pool, theme, food, etc. We have stayed there when conventioneers were about, and it didn't bother us at all.
